Back at her temporary accommodation, Luna couldn’t stop thinking about the hidden chamber and the journal. There had to be more to Alexander’s story, and she was determined to uncover it.
Later that evening, Luna received a cryptic message on her phone. It was from an anonymous number, containing only a single line: “The truth is hidden in the moonlight.”
Her heart raced. The message seemed to be a clue. She recalled the full moon that was approaching and wondered if it was related to the symbols Alexander had mentioned.
That night, as the full moon rose high in the sky, Luna decided to investigate further. She returned to the mansion, making her way to the hidden room under the cover of darkness.
With the moonlight casting eerie shadows, Luna carefully entered the room and examined the symbols on the walls. They seemed to glow faintly in the moonlight, and she could see that they formed patterns that resembled constellations.
As she studied the symbols, she noticed something peculiar—a part of the wall that looked different from the rest. It was slightly ajar, as if it could be moved.
Her hands trembled slightly as she pushed against the wall, revealing a hidden compartment behind it. Inside, she found a series of old documents and photographs, some of which seemed to depict ancient rituals and others showing Alexander’s ancestors.
One photograph caught her eye—an image of a woman who looked strikingly similar to Alexander, but with a look of intense sorrow. Next to the photograph was a handwritten note: “The curse will continue unless the bloodline is renewed.”
Luna’s breath caught in her throat. This was more than she had anticipated. There was a curse, and it seemed to be linked to Alexander’s family and their mysterious practices.
As she gathered the documents, a sound behind her made her freeze. Alexander stood in the doorway, his expression a mixture of concern and resignation.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said quietly. “Some truths are dangerous to uncover.”
Luna’s heart pounded. “I found something—something about a curse. What does it mean?”
Alexander’s gaze softened, a mix of sadness and reluctance. “It means that my family’s past is more complicated than you can imagine. But some things are meant to remain hidden for a reason.”
Luna stood her ground, determined to understand. “I need to know. This could be crucial for both of us.”
Alexander sighed deeply. “Very well. I will tell you what you need to know. But be prepared—this is not a story with a simple ending.”
