Crown of popularity

1090 Words
Ivy didn't like the way she was cuffed to the bed. She wasn't even able to move her hands. Her wrists started to hurt as she had her hands above her head for so long. How long was she supposed to lay down in the bed like this?  She very much thought that Tristan would r**e her when he got in the room a while ago. But he had said that he wouldn't touch her without her consent. And he also said that he needed her heart. But Ivy was still anxious. What if he changes his mind and decides to r**e me?!  Ivy felt like her worst nightmare had just come true again. This wasn't the first time that she had been kidnapped. Something like this had happened to her when she was sixteen. When she was returning to her home from her school in a cab, she was abducted by some strange masked men. She was so terrified back then. She thought that she probably wouldn't make it. The masked men demanded a lot of money from her parents in exchange for releasing her. But luckily, the cops managed to track her before something worse could happen to her. After she was rescued by the cops, she became popular all over the city. She was tagged as 'the fighter girl,' by the media. After that, she became the Queen Bee of the city.  Even though the experience was traumatic for her, it did give her a crown of popularity. Her worst nightmare gave her the best life she could ever ask for. Now that she was kidnapped, she wondered what was going to happen to her this time.  After thinking for a while, Ivy assumed that Tristan had kidnapped her for money. She assumed that's why he still didn't r**e her. He was just messing with her mind by saying that he needed her heart. Why would men like Tristan want someone's heart?! He seemed to her like a psychopath and she thought that psychopaths can't love.  She thought that Tristan either needed her body or her father's money or maybe he needed both! Since he didn't touch her yet, he probably needed money. It scared her even more as her father had just gone broke a while ago and somehow magically he has his finances together.  If Tristan asked his father for money, then they would go broke again—and then she would lose her status as the Queen Bee of the city. This shouldn't happen to her! She hoped that cops rescued her soon like they did last time.  As time went by, Ivy started to lose hope. Nobody showed up to rescue her. The last time when she was abducted, the cops had rescued her within four hours. Now it was more than four hours, still, the cops didn't show up. Perhaps she wouldn't be rescued this time! Then again she started to worry about her family going broke.  At that moment, the door of the room she was in opened. She very much expected to see some men in blue uniform, but to her disappointment, the young lady who got in the room was wearing a French maid uniform. She was one of the maids working in the Thompson's mansion. The rule for the maids was that they were supposed to always wear a French maid uniform while they were working in the mansion. The maid had a tray in her hand that had food and water on it. She placed the tray on the nightstand table that was next to the four-poster bed and she opened the topmost drawer of the table. Then she took out a little key and moved near Ivy.  "Mr. Thompson had told me to release you from your cuffs," the maid said and freed both of her hands from the burden of the cuffs. Once Ivy's hands were free, she was relieved. Then an idea came to her mind. What if she escapes from here? But she shouldn't hurry or else she would get caught and ruin her chances of escaping. She planned to wait for the right moment.  Ivy sat on the edge of the bed and got the food tray from the maid. She started to eat the salad that she was offered. While munching the vegetables, she wondered how they knew about her meal schedule. She always eats salad in the afternoons in order to maintain her perfect body. Ivy wondered what else they knew about her. They say that kidnappers monitor each and every activity of their victims before abducting them. So they must know everything about her. As Ivy took another spoon full of vegetables and devoured them in her mouth, it struck her that Tristan must have known the news about her father going broke. Still, he kidnapped her?! She wasn't able to predict what Tristan really wanted from her. Anyway, it didn't matter to her as she was going to escape from there soon.  ……………….. Amelia started to get worried when her daughter didn't come back home even though it got dark. She tried calling her phone but it went straight to voicemail. Where was she?! She started to curse herself for giving her daughter so much freedom to do anything she wanted.  When it became midnight, she got extremely impatient. She immediately called her husband who was now working late in the office.  "Honey, I'll come home in an hour. Don't stay up for me! Just go to sleep—" "Ivy has not come home yet. Do you have any idea where she is right now?" There was silence at the other end for a long time. Amelia thought that her husband had hung up the line. When she checked the phone, the call was still on.  "Oliver, why are you silent?" Amelia almost screamed.  "Well… honey… Ivy is staying with her friends tonight. She informed me an hour ago. She didn't tell you?" Amelia got so irritated. "Why didn't she care to at least send me a text?! And when I called her, she didn't answer me. What is wrong with her?!" "Let it go, honey. She is young and having the time of her life." "Whatever! Tell your daughter to respect her mother," she yelled and hung up the call.  After getting bashed by his wife, Oliver struggled to come up with a way in which his wife doesn't find out the truth. He was determined to hide the truth from his wife no matter what!
