What creature is she?!

1020 Words
It was exactly midnight now. But Oliver didn't have the heart to go home and face his wife. He was pacing around his workspace and he felt extremely guilty for lying to his wife. He loved his wife so much and it killed him that he had to lie to her like this. Now he didn't know how to keep the truth away from her. If Ivy didn't speak to her, then she would suspect that something is wrong. He should have to do something before that. If she finds out the truth even by mistake, then she would never forgive him for selling her daughter for money.  Oliver didn't want his wife to hate him! And he couldn't imagine living a life without her. One of the main reasons why he sold her daughter was to protect her. And he would do anything to keep her at his side forever!  When it was way past midnight, Oliver took out his phone and called Tristan. He thought that Tristan wouldn't pick up the call as it was way middle of the night. But surprisingly he attended the call at the first ring. "What is the matter, Mr. Oliver?" There was annoyance in his tone. "It is about my wife! She will start to suspect me if she doesn't get to speak with Ivy. You must help me in handling this—" After a prolonged silence, Oliver heard him sigh from the other end. "Mr. Oliver, it is your wife and it's your responsibility to take care of her. My responsibility is to take care of your daughter—" "But what about…." Oliver didn't even get the opportunity to finish saying that as Tristan hung up the call. "How rude of him?!" he murmured to himself. What was he supposed to do now?! Oliver froze on his steps and faced the glass door of his office room when he heard the noise of footsteps approaching near him. Then the door of his room opened and a blonde-haired young girl got in his chamber. She was carrying a set of files in her hand.  Oliver signaled her to place the files on his desk. Then his eyes narrowed down to her red high heels as she walked to his desk and placed the files under the paperweight. The way she was dressed reminded him of his daughter. She likes to wear high heels too! Ivy used to spend at least ten thousand dollars per month for shoes alone!  Then Oliver noticed that she too had blonde hair like his daughter. When she was above to leave the room, Oliver halted her. "Wait," he said sternly. The girl turned on her heels and faced her boss. "Mr. Brown, is there something that I need to do?" The girl asked hesitantly as she really wanted to go home now. For God's sake, it was midnight now.  "Yes, I have a special job for you alone," he crossed his hands behind him and went near her. "But you need to keep this a secret. No one else is supposed to know about this except you and me. Can you do it?!" "But… but… what is the job?!" She was trembling now as she misunderstood his words. Was he asking for something sinful?! She did like the way he looked. Even though he was old, he looked handsome with his greyish blonde hair and blue eyes. Yet, he was married and she didn't want to be a mistress to someone.  Oliver sensed what she was thinking by the way she was trembling before him. So he decided to say out the truth without beating around the bush. "I want you to act like my daughter for a while and I'll give you ten thousand dollars per month for that. Do you accept the deal or not?!" The girl rolled her eyes at him. Ten thousand dollars?! That was good money for her. But why did he want her to act as his daughter?! He already had a daughter! Yet she decided to accept the deal as she needed the money.  ……. Tristan was peacefully enjoying his drink in the room next to where Ivy was staying. From here he was able to still get her scent. She smelled like fresh summer rose petals. He so wanted to be in the same room as her and keep on staring at her beautiful face. But he didn't want to creep her out. He wanted her heart and if he acted like a creep she would never love him back.  Just when he had finished two glasses of whiskey, the door to his room opened and his annoying brother Thomas got in. "Why would you let me live in peace?" he said even before he came near him. But Thomas was determined to confront him for his actions today. Usually, he avoided arguments with him as they never ended well. Over the years, both the brothers have fought a countless number of times. There were times when Tristan had joined hands with Thomas's rivals just to f*ck him up. Only for the past hundred years, they both have been at peace and Thomas didn't want to ruin it. So he decided to speak to him as politely as possible.  "Tristan, I get that you are a ladies' man and that you like to change girls like you change clothes. But why would you spend one hundred and fifty million dollars for a woman whom you are probably going to f*ck for a while and throw her away?!" Tristan got annoyed and he placed the whiskey glass on the table next to him. "Why do you always assume the worst of me Tommy? And what makes you think that I'll throw her away?" Thomas was surprised by his reply. "Then are you planning to keep her with you for a long time?" "Yes," he answered and surprised Thomas even more. Then he knew for sure that the girl wasn't a human. He thought that a human can't enchant Tristan!  "Fine, brother! Now tell me what creature she is?"
