I need your daughter

1108 Words
Amelia was always a positive person even though her husband was negative by nature. She is one of the main reasons why Brown Industries grew in the first place. She encouraged her husband and she pushed him to take risks that yielded in the growth of their company. But now, even she had no idea how to fix this. This situation seemed to be beyond repair. “You should have at least not faked the account numbers,” she said to Mr. Brown.  “But that was the only way to attract more stakeholders and clients to our company. Or else we would have suffered even more losses,” Mr. Brown defended his actions. He didn’t understand how this even happened. Everything was fine until yesterday. He thought that he had it under control. How could something like this happen overnight? Now he had two options. He can either make a hundred million dollars appear out of the blue that could save his company or else go to prison for forging with the account numbers. He definitely can’t risk going to prison. Or maybe he would have to sell all the assets. But that can’t be done soon enough. Which investor is going to step forward now to help them? He bet that all of his rivals were now laughing at his condition. “That’s it! We are doomed,” he said out loud.  Ivy wanted to smack her father in his face and bring him back to his senses. She can’t get poor now. What will happen to her position as the Queen Bee?! People will now stop respecting her or admiring her when she becomes a peasant. And she can’t let that happen to herself.  Just then, her father got another phone. He thought that it was another one of his stakeholders calling him to argue with him. He even thought of cutting the line. But something made him pick up the call and speak.  “Mr. Brown,” a cold voice called his name. “I know the exact situation that you are in now. I can help you. But come to Central City Park now. And you should come alone.” After saying that, the caller just hung up. Mr. Brown was stunned. Who is this man? And how could he help me? Is he wealthy enough to offer a hundred million dollars to him?! And why would he want to help him? Amelia raised her eyebrows and questioned him about the caller.  “Someone wants to help me. And I am going to meet him,” her father said and walked out of the house.  Ivy moved near her mother and asked her,” Could our father be really able to fix this?” “I hope so,” Amelia said and looked at her. “But you don’t have to be sad, Ivy. I will not let anything happen to your status. Even if your dad doesn’t fix this, I will send you to your grandparent's house. They will definitely take good care of you.” I should live with my grandparents?! They were not the pleasant kind of people to live with. They always treated her like a child. They never let her party or enjoy. Then she understood that not only her year but her whole life was also ruined.  ……………. Mr. Brown hesitantly stepped out of the car and walked on the green grass of the park that was still wet with dew. There were fewer people in the park even though it was Saturday morning. He scanned around the surrounding area hoping to find the man who had called him. But he had not seen his face. He had just heard his voice.  “Mr. Brown, please follow me,” a man in a black suit said. His suit wasn’t of high brand. By that, he understood that this one was just an assistant of the man who had called him. And his voice sounded very normal. It wasn’t deep and cold like that of the caller.  The assistant led him to the center of the park that had a bench in it. And a handsome man was seated on the bench. He had inky black hair and brown eyes that were burning like gold. Mr. Brown could say that this man was not ordinary. His suit glittered and all of his accessories were made up of diamonds. ‘Maybe this man can give him a hundred million dollars,’ he thought and sat beside the man on the bench.  “Mr. Oliver Brown,” he hissed his name like a serpent. “I heard about the news and I am sorry for your loss. But I am not cold-hearted like your rivals and I am not planning to do nothing and watch while the cops drag you to the prison.” Fear crept upon his heart. He didn’t want to suffer in prison. And his family’s name will be ruined if that happens. And what will happen to Ivy? His princess’s life will be spoiled too.  “Don’t be scared, Mr. Oliver,” the man before him smiled. “I will help you. Tell me how much you need.” “Hundred million dollars,” Oliver said immediately and feared how the man was going to react after hearing such a big number. But the man just smiled and said,” I will give you one hundred and fifty million dollars.” Mr. Brown was stunned. “Are you serious?” “Yes, I am,” he smirked. “So do we have a deal here?” Oliver had no other way than to accept the deal. It was either this or going to prison. “Fine,” he said. “I accept the deal. I promise to pay you back once I fix my company.” “No, I don’t want the money back,” he shook his head. “But I want something else. If you are willing to give it to me, I will give you the money.” Oliver knew it! No one would just give away millions of dollars blankly. There will always be a price to pay. But this man refused to get back money too! What else does he expect from him? “Can you please tell me what you need?” “I was afraid that you would never ask! I need your daughter and if you are willing to give her to me forever I will give you one fifty million dollars right now. What do you say, Mr. Oliver? Do we have a deal here or not?”
