A complicated story

ANGEL’S POV It’s the weekend, thank God. I woke up with my head banging like crazy, the price I had to pay for all that alcohol last night. Ugh. I was cuddling Sandra, my little Barbie, or should I say she-boy, she will probably kill me if she hear me call her Berbie. she was still fast asleep, her breathing soft and peaceful. A lazy smile spread across my face. She looked so cute when she was sleeping. I leaned over and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead. Trying not to wake her, I carefully untangled myself from her arms and slipped out of bed. My head was pounding, but I dragged myself to the kitchen to make some tea. I grabbed a few slices of bread too, figuring she’d probably be hungry when she woke up. When I returned to the room, I set the tea and bread on the bedside table and gently nudged her shoulder. “Wake ee, wakee, Sleeping Beauty,” I whispered, tapping her softly. “One minute,” she mumbled, her eyes still shut, clinging to sleep. “There’s no ‘one minute!’ Stand up now!” I raised my voice, half-laughing as I poked her side. “Uuunnnnnnn,” she groaned, finally sitting up and stretching her arms above her head like a lazy cat. “That’s my baby,” I teased, walking back over to the tea and bread to hand them to her. “Morning,” she mumbled, still yawning. “Morning to you too.” I handed her the cup and the plate. “Awwnn, you made me breakfast. You’re such a sweetheart,” she said, flashing me that soft, sleepy smile. “Obviously, I am,” I said, flipping my hair dramatically. We both laughed. But then, out of nowhere, we heard this loud noise, like someone was trying to break something. It was coming from outside, close by, and we froze. “Is that sound coming from Miss Talia’s apartment?” she asked, her eyebrows furrowed. “Wait, how do you even know she lives here?” I blinked at her in surprise. “You specifically told me yesterday.” She gave me a look and burst out laughing. “I did?” I scratched my head, embarrassed. Wow, I must’ve been really drunk. We quickly got up to check what was happening. By the time we got outside, the door to Miss Talia’s apartment had already been forced open. “I think she’s at home,” I said, confused and a little panicked. “Is she?” Sandra didn’t wait for me to answer, she just took off running into the apartment. “Wait! Babe, it might be dangerous!” I called after her, but she didn’t even slow down. I had no choice but to follow. Inside, we found Miss Talia in the middle of a terrifying struggle. Some guy was yanking her hair and yelling at her about money. “Alex, I told you to stop asking me for money! I don’t have any, so get the f**k out of my house!” Miss Talia shouted, struggling to free herself. “You can’t tell me you don’t have money! Stop pretending!” the guy snapped, tightening his grip on her. He hadn’t noticed us yet. “I don’t!” she screamed back, trying to push him off. Before I could even react, Sandra darted forward, trying to pull him off of her. That’s when I saw the broken glass in his hand. In one swift move, he slashed her arm with it. “Oh God, f**k!” Sandra screamed, stumbling backward, clutching her bleeding arm. “Sandra!” I screamed, running to her side. My heart was pounding like it was going to burst out of my chest. “Leave the f**king house, or I swear I’ll call the cops right now!” I yelled, pulling my phone from my pocket and dialing without hesitation. The guy didn’t wait, he bolted out of the apartment as soon as he saw I was serious. “Are you okay?” Miss Talia rushed over, panic flashing in her eyes. “Hold on, let me get the first aid box!” She disappeared into the other room. I turned to Sandra, feeling a mixture of fear and anger. “You shouldn’t have done that! What if he stabbed you somewhere worse?” “Don’t be so dramatic, I’m fine,” she said, wincing a little but managing a weak smile. Miss Talia returned quickly with the first aid kit and carefully cleaned Sandra’s wound, gently wrapping it up while they locked eyes for a little longer than necessary. What the actual f**k is going on? I screamed in my mind I cleared my throat loudly, feeling a strange wave of jealousy, i stepped outside to give them space, or maybe to cool my head. ————————————————————— SANDRA’S POV “You can come stay with us until they fix your broken door,” I said, standing and brushing off my hands. “No, it’s fine. I can manage,” Miss Talia replied, though her voice sounded unsure. “No, it’s not fine,” I insisted. “It’s dangerous to stay alone in a place with a busted door, especially after all this drama.” She hesitated, but I could tell she was considering it. “Okay, fine. If you insist, I’ll come over in a bit,” she finally agreed. I smiled as I walked back into our apartment. “She’s going to stay here until her door’s fixed. Is that okay with you?” I asked Angel, trying to sound casual. “Sure, why not?” she replied, but the tight smile on her face told me she was trying hard to hide her jealousy. Later, as we all settled into the apartment, Angel decided to press for answers. “So… will you explain what happened? It kinda looked like you knew that guy.” “Who was he?” I added, genuinely curious. Miss Talia sighed. “He’s my ex.” “Your ex?” Angel and I asked in perfect unison. “Yeah, my ex-boyfriend,” she said, glancing between us as if trying to figure out why we sounded so shocked. “Wait, so your ex broke into your house, pressuring you for money? He could have seriously hurt you!” I said, still in disbelief. “I mean, who dates guys like that?” Angel added, rolling her eyes. “Girl, you seriously need to work on your taste.” “ANGEL!” I snapped, giving her a warning glare. “What? I’m just saying,” she shrugged, unapologetic. “It just happened, that’s all. But seriously, thank you both for letting me stay here tonight. I really appreciate it,” Miss Talia said softly, her eyes meeting mine again. Angel suddenly asked, “So… how are we going to sleep? You know I’m used to sleeping next to my baby here.” She nudged me, her tone playful, but I knew what she really meant. And if I was being honest… deep down, there was this part of me that wanted to sleep beside Miss Talia. Ugh, I hate this feeling. What is wrong with me? “I can just sleep on the couch for the night,” Miss Talia offered quickly. “No, no way you’re sleeping on the couch,” Angel said immediately, giving me a side-eye, waiting for me to finish the sentence. “Yeah, no way. You can use the bed,” I said. “We’ll just sleep on the floor tonight.” “That’s better. Besides, my baby here can’t fall asleep without me next to her,” Angel teased, giving me a playful wink. “I think she’s obsessed with me,” I joked, and we all laughed. “Okay, if you both say so. I appreciate it,” Miss Talia said, her voice warm. We all set up our sleeping spots and got ready for bed. As I lay there on the floor, next to Angel but thinking about something,or maybe someone else, I realized this was probably just the beginning of a very complicated story.
