Inside the apartment, silence lingered like fog. The tension between Bhabotosh Chakraborty and Jilee had not disappeared overnight. If anything, it had grown thicker. Bhabotosh sat at the dining table with his laptop open. The glow from the screen reflected off his tired eyes. He had barely slept. Every attempt to recover his accounts had failed. His office login still showed “User does not exist.” His bank apps rejected him as if he had never been their customer. Even stranger, when he searched his own name online, the results were… wrong. There were unfamiliar articles, strange posts, rumors. One headline made his stomach twist. “Local Man Bhabotosh Chakraborty Suspected in Financial Fraud.” “Ridiculous…” he muttered. But his voice carried uncertainty. Behind him, Jilee stood near the kitchen counter, pretending to prepare tea. In reality, she was watching him. Observing him. The past day had planted something inside her mind. A question. A small one at first. What if Bhabotosh wasn’t telling her everything? She hated that thought. But it kept returning. --- Far across the city, in a room full of glowing monitors, Yesin watched them both carefully. His fingers danced across the keyboard like a pianist. Data flowed. Messages routed through invisible channels. Every reaction in the apartment fascinated him. He whispered to himself, “Stage two.” The cursor blinked on a messaging platform. Receiver: Jilee Sender: Unknown He typed slowly. “Be careful of the man you married.” Then he pressed send. --- Back in the apartment, Jilee’s phone vibrated softly on the table. She picked it up casually. But the moment she read the message, her heartbeat quickened. Unknown Number: Be careful of the man you married. Her eyes instinctively moved toward Bhabotosh. He was still staring at his laptop, rubbing his forehead in frustration. Jilee typed a reply before thinking. Who is this? A few seconds passed. Another message arrived. Someone who knows the truth. Her chest tightened. What truth? The reply came quickly. Search his name properly. Her fingers trembled slightly. She opened a browser and typed “Bhabotosh Chakraborty.” Several results appeared instantly. But these were not the normal results she expected. There were forum discussions. Anonymous posts. Rumors. Some claimed he had been involved in financial scams. Others suggested he had connections with illegal networks. One post even said: “People who trust him should be careful.” Jilee felt a strange chill spreading through her body. Was this fake? Or was she simply discovering something hidden? She looked up again. Bhabotosh looked different now. Not just tired. Almost… nervous. --- Across the city, Yesin leaned forward with interest. Human psychology fascinated him. One anonymous message. One small seed of doubt. And trust began to fracture. He smiled faintly. “Let’s push a little harder.” Another message appeared on Jilee’s phone. “Have you ever wondered why he gets angry when questioned?” Jilee stared at the screen. Then slowly looked back at Bhabotosh. Right at that moment he slammed his laptop shut in frustration. “Nothing works!” he snapped. Jilee flinched. Her phone screen went dark in her hand. --- “What’s wrong?” she asked carefully. Bhabotosh exhaled sharply. “Everything is wrong.” “What do you mean?” “My office account is gone. My bank says my ID number doesn’t exist. Even my email is disappearing.” Jilee crossed her arms slowly. “That sounds impossible.” “I know!” He ran a hand through his hair. “It’s like someone is erasing me.” The words hung strangely in the air. Jilee’s phone buzzed again. She glanced down quickly. “Did he tell you about the fraud investigation?” Her throat tightened. Fraud. That word again. She looked up at Bhabotosh. “Is there something you need to tell me?” He frowned. “What?” “About your work.” His expression hardened immediately. “What about it?” Jilee hesitated. Then she spoke carefully. “I searched your name online.” A long silence followed. Then Bhabotosh laughed bitterly. “So now you’re believing internet rumors?” “I’m just asking.” “Those things are fake.” “How do you know?” He stood up suddenly. “Because I know my own life!” His voice echoed through the room. Jilee felt anger rising in her chest too. “Then explain why everything about you is disappearing!” Bhabotosh froze. For the first time, he had no answer. --- Yesin watched the argument with quiet satisfaction. On his screen, both of their heart rates had spiked again. Anger. Fear. Confusion. Exactly what he wanted. His brain sparked with another idea instantly. What if Bhabotosh receives something too? He opened another window. Within seconds, an anonymous email was sent. Receiver: Bhabotosh Chakraborty Subject: “Your Wife Is Looking for the Truth.” --- Bhabotosh’s phone vibrated. He picked it up absentmindedly. Then his eyes narrowed. The email contained a screenshot. It showed Jilee searching his name online. His jaw tightened. “You’re investigating me now?” Jilee blinked in surprise. “What?” He showed her the screen. Her face paled. “How did you get that?” “You tell me.” “I didn’t send that!” “Then who did?” Neither of them spoke for several seconds. The room suddenly felt smaller. Colder. Someone else was involved. Someone watching them. --- Across the city, Yesin whispered softly, “Good.” He loved this moment. The moment when people realized they were not alone. But they had no idea who was watching. Or why. He opened a new file. Title: Subject Pair — Psychological Degradation Experiment Underneath it he typed: Subject 1: Bhabotosh Chakraborty Subject 2: Jilee Then he added another line. Objective: Destroy trust gradually. Yesin leaned back in his chair. But something about Jilee caught his attention again. She was stronger than he expected. Even in confusion, her eyes still searched for logic. Interesting. Very interesting. --- Back in the apartment, the atmosphere had turned dangerously quiet. Bhabotosh paced slowly across the room. “This is insane.” Jilee sat on the sofa, staring at her phone. Another message arrived. “You deserve to know the truth.” Her fingers hovered over the screen. What truth? The reply came instantly. “Meet me tonight.” Her heart skipped. Where? The address appeared. An abandoned café near the old railway bridge. Jilee swallowed hard. “Someone wants to meet me.” Bhabotosh stopped walking. “What?” “An anonymous sender.” “Don’t even think about going.” “What if they know something?” “They’re manipulating you!” “Or maybe they’re trying to warn me.” His eyes flashed with anger. “About me?” She didn’t answer. That silence hurt more than any accusation. For a moment Bhabotosh simply stared at her. Then he spoke quietly. “You really think I’m capable of something like that?” Jilee looked down. “I don’t know what to think anymore.” The words cut deeper than she realized. --- Far away, Yesin watched their expressions carefully. This was the breaking point approaching. Love and hate were now blending into something darker. Suspicion. Fear. Isolation. Exactly the environment he needed. He whispered softly, “Tonight will be interesting.” Because the anonymous meeting… Was never meant to reveal the truth. It was meant to create even more lies. And as the city lights slowly flickered on outside, the lives of Bhabotosh and Jilee continued drifting toward a dangerous psychological maze created by a man they had never seen. A man who could erase them anytime. With just one key. And somewhere on Yesin’s screen, the name Bhabotosh Chakraborty flickered again. Not deleted. Not yet. But dangerously close. ---
