"So? Just exactly what were you dreaming about last night? Hmm?" Derrick said menacingly. I scrunched my forehead in confusion. "W-what?" I stammered. "Are you sneaking around on me?" he snarled as he gripped my hair harshly. "N-no! W-what a-are y-you t-talking about?" I whimpered painfully, "I swear I'm not sneaking around." He leaned close to my face, and the look he gave me made my whole body tense. "You better make sure you are telling the truth, darling, or else, you know the consequences," he growled angrily as he let go of my hair. I gulped inwardly and dropped my eyes in submission. I knew it was the only way to calm him down. He looked content with my submission, so he chuckled and left the room. I didn't know how he knew what I dreamt about or why he asked me that question. Did I say something in my sleep? I truly didn't know what my dream meant or even who this yellow-eyed person was. Like, seriously, who has yellow eyes like that? They were eerie and kinda scary, yet they felt so familiar to me. I felt a sense of calm around them and dare I say, a feeling of protection. Maybe even love? I wasn't sure why I felt these things. The darkness seemed like a place I had been before, but that couldn't be right, could it? I don't remember anything like that from my childhood or even recently. Maybe I should call my parents? Derrick left soon after he left me alone in the room. I knew my responsibilities that he expected, so I just sighed with frustration and began my chores. * * * * * * * * * * * * * After I got dressed and headed downstairs to clean, I noticed a note on the fridge. Darling, I expect this house to be immaculate. I am having guests over tonight, and I want everything to be perfect. DO NOT DISAPPOINT ME. Everything must be ready at six sharp. P.S. Make sure you have dressed accordingly. - - - I felt sick just thinking about the guests he was going to have over. He has a monthly meeting with his "people" to discuss business and also to let off steam. I didn't even want to think of what he would do to me at that party. My body shook with fear just thinking about that. I have to make sure everything was done before five-thirty. I rushed and called the one place that would cater to us and be ready before the time needed. I made sure to order everything and then told them to charge Derrick's Black Amex card they had on file. I had food and beverages, and now all I had to do was hire a few cleaners to help me. Once I finished that, I decided to call Derrick and ask him to go shopping for an outfit. "Hello?" Derrick said with irritation. "Husband, may I go shopping for a dress for the party? I promise you I will be good." I said hesitantly. "Hmmm... very well, but don't make me regret this. Do not try anything, or you will suffer dearly at the party." he chuckles darkly. "I'll listen. I swear, anything but that. P-please." I whimpered softly. The line went dead, and dread filled my veins. I called the driver and hurriedly got ready. I was just about to walk outside when a very strong and powerful force hit me so hard that I fell to the ground and everything went black * * * * * * * * * * * * * I woke up again in the darkness. I looked around when I spotted the yellow eyes again. "Where are you? I can barely feel you. Something is wrong, I can feel it. Dammit, tell me where you are." roared a deep angry voice. The eyes looked around frantically as if they were looking for something or someone. Was it me they were looking for? "Who are you?" I whispered softly. The eyes snapped to me and widened with shock. "Addison? Y-you're all grown up? You can hear me?" the voice said as it cracked slightly. I started to nod my head, but then suddenly it felt like I was being pulled away violently, and everything was getting blurry. "ADDISON! NOOOOOOO." screamed the voice frantically, "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" I felt like I was being pulled back into my body. That was the best way I could describe the feeling. It didn't make any sense, but that was the closest I could get to it. I blinked my eyes a few times and saw the guards shaking me furiously. "W-what happened?" I said with a weak voice. "Mrs. Stone, your husband is on the way as we speak, and you need to get up." said the guard rudely. I felt dizzy and swayed slightly as I got up. My legs wobbled, and I fell with a thud. What is going on? Why did I dream of those eyes again? "Mrs. Stone? Are you alright?" said the guard impatiently. "N-not really. I'm not sure what is going on with me at the moment. P-please, help me to the couch. I have so much to do before six." I said with a pained voice. The guard huffed out in frustration and then helped me to the couch. I was there for but a few moments when I suddenly heard loud footsteps coming towards me. I knew that sound anywhere. HIM. My husband. I gulped inwardly and cowered when I saw him enter the living room. He had a furious expression on his face, and it was directed at me. "What the fûck are you playing at Addison?" he snarls. He comes right in front of me and leans down and backhands me. "Are you trying to get out of your responsibilities?" He narrows his eyes at me and shakes his head with disappointment and frustration. I shook my head as tears welled in my eyes. I didn't dare move an inch. "N-no, I already have e-everything set. I j-just wanted to get a d-dress for t-tonight, but I passed out and fell to the ground. I-I'm s-sorry." I whimpered softly. He sits down next to me and cups my face tenderly. "Why did you pass out darling?" Derrick says softly. I am so afraid of what he will do that I accidentally flinch, which in turn, pîsses Derrick off. He grits his teeth and then shoves me away. "I don't know why. It j-just happened. P-please, do not be mad at me." I sobbed uncontrollably. "Shut up, Addison just shut the fûck up. Get your shît done or else. No more fûcking excuses. I will be back in a few hours to keep an eye on you." Derrick fumes. "Okay, husband," I whisper. He storms out the door and slams it. I wince from the loud sound and get up slowly to call for the guards. I still have things to get done. They lead me outside and I get in the car. I don't feel like going anywhere, all I feel like doing is crawling into bed and sleeping, but I don't have a choice. I have to go get a dress and make sure I am the picture of a perfect wife for my husband. Otherwise, the consequences will not be pretty and the party will be even worse. I close my eyes and pray that everything will be alright. Why do I feel like something huge is about to happen? Who was that yellow-eyed person and why did he know who I was? I needed to find out and soon. Something was going to happen that will irrevocably change my whole life forever, I could feel it all the way to my bones.
