After Mr. Lawrence's class, I got the team together. Morgan came with us since she had nothing else to do back at the dorm, and the more hands and ideas we have, the faster we get at cracking the case our dear principal of the academy has sent us to do.
"Okay, everyone spread across and signal if you have something important or suspicious!"
I told the team the minute we all stepped our feet at the exit of the academy, because she can't go past there, especially when the force field is up.
Morgan decided to team up with me. I looked around, finding out clues; everything seemed normal and nothing out of the ordinary.
"Find anything,?" I asked Morgan, hoping she was helping me find clues; rather, she was seated on a boulder with her legs crossed.
"Nah! I didn't find anything," she moaned unintentionally, and I grinned, walking off her nonchalant attitude. I have less than a week to find out what got into the school permits, and allowing Morgan to get me upset is going to stress me out more than I am already.
"You're so unhelpful, I rolled my eyes at her and left, going to find the others.
We all gathered together, and no one had anything good for me, not even a tiny clue that might lead us to what Mrs. Elena assumes might have entered the academy...
While we were all talking and brain-storming, Morgan came up to me and said, Sonia, I'm bored; I'll see you back at the dorm. She waved and, as well, turned her back on us with her tight leather trousers and was walking away.
Something urged me to look at her bag, and as she walked, I saw her bag holding onto a bracelet.
"Hold on, Morgan,
I stood up and rushed over to her.
She turns still unimpressed to hear what was going to be said to her; I wasn't either; however, when I got closer enough, I grabbed her hand up above her head and plucked the bracelet that dangled from her bag.
"That isn't mine," she tells me.
"I know! But thanks to you, we can as well find out who this bracelet belongs to and find out through that person what happened that night, I think."
I thought for a second and spat out my plans with her.
"Okay! Good, you're welcome, " she pulled her hair back , grinned at my face and walked alone back to the academy..
"Sonia, what's the plan?".
Logan, who is my trusted assistant, came to me while looking at the bracelet in my hand.
"We find the owner of this bracelet," I confronted him, and I said this:
Okay, but how? He asked another question.
I don't actually know how to find out who owns the bracelet; however, I can create enough awareness that the owner will come to meet me herself. This bracelet must belong to someone from the academy. What would have helped me identify the owner if there were crests of fire, water, air, or earth bender initials written on them? Either way, I'd still find out who this belongs to.
The meeting was dissolved after I instructed everyone to make a flyer and pass it around the school as to who owns the bracelet, but what happens if Mrs. Elena begins to ask questions? What do I tell her?
Morgan was sleeping in the dorm when I walked inside. I was also about to get ready for bed when I heard a soft knock on the door.
Sonia, are you in?". .
Fatima, the girl who strangely wants to become everyone's friend, was standing outside my dorm door and was asking after me.
Morgan was still in bed, and if she were awake, she'd have handled this. I can't act nice tonight; I am too exhausted.
"Fatima, what are you doing here? It's past curfew. I slightly closed the door of my dorm, refusing to let her walk another step inside.
"Oh? I'm sorry, Sonia, but I came to give you this. She brought out her hand and gave me a plant.
"Okay?" I sensed something strange: What is this for? And I asked her.
Fatima saw my face, frowning and suspicious as well, but still gave out a smile.
Actually, Sonia, I told my mom about you; she asked me to give you this as a thank you for helping me when I came to school new," she grinned, still holding the same smile.
"You're mom? Haven't you been in school for the past few months? I asked her another question, and I literally wasn't buying her words about her mom giving me a thoughtful gesture, like a plant.
"Oh Sonia! You're so funny!".
Fatima playfully hit me on the shoulders and laughed. Goodnight, and please keep this plant saved," she tells, and then runs off, hopping to her dorm.
I know I shouldn't grudge anyone, but why do I feel scared and unsaved? When talking to Fatima, she's an earth bender like myself, but I can feel there's something wrong with her. Perhaps I'm misjudging her; she might not be a weirdo like everyone assumes; maybe she's really nice and just wants to be friends with everyone.
The plant was kept by the window, close to the wardrobe. As I walked into the bathroom to freshen up, it's been a long day, and I need my beauty sleep...
I came outside after getting ready for bed. I sat down and tucked myself in to sleep. There wasn't any need to rock myself to sleep when I felt stiff too. I slept off the moment my head hit the pillows of my bed.
The following morning, I woke up still feeling the exhaustion from last night. I turned to look at Morgan's bed, and I saw that she had woken up.
"Good morning, Sonia. She came out of the bathroom and went to Fatima's gift from last night.
"What is this?"
She tried to touch the green leaves but got disgusted and withdrew her hand and body from meeting with the plant. I kept looking out the window.
"Hey! Fatima gave that to me; she says her mom's sending it with love. I guested with my hands wide open.
"Ew? Don't do that. She cursed, "I don't like Fatima one bit; she's weird, and I don't like her gifting you things because you f*****g helped her one time!"
She went and brought out her clothes from the wardrobe and went back to the bathroom to change.
