There was a huge storm outside my dorm. Initially, we had those kinds of storms when huge elemental students were being welcomed to the school, and right about now, I am certain that the school head principal, Mrs. Elena, and her assistant, Mr. Anderson, have both gone to the entrance of the school to welcome whoever might have broken the force field, protecting the school from any supernatural attacks. Being at the school, I have grown to make use of my powers and embrace the other requirements that come with it. The morning after the huge rain and storm, I freshened up and got set for my classes. Today, Mrs. Dani has promised to teach us how to blend in with the earth. Those teachings belong to the earth benders, and I happen to be one of them. "Sonia! You're late." I got to class a bit later than expected, all thanks to my friend and also my roommate, who makes it stressful to go to classes without scattering all her clothes for that outside that goes with her eyes; Morgan has a weird eye contact that changes based on her mood, and right now, she's utterly happy and excited to head to class and learn, which is her least favorite thing to do. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Dani; I got held back by someone. I told her and made absolutely sure she realized that it was not my fault. Morgan and I got to our chairs; we both sit at the front, and it gives us the edge to listen attentively to the teachings of Mrs. Dani. At the last class, we were thought to give life to dying flowers, which I totally did perfectly, and today, she's going to teach us how to use the earth to our advantage to do what we want it to do. "Take out your hand gloves and wear them." Said Mrs. Dani. I took out my hand gloves and wore them on both hands; the others were either wearing theirs, and after everywhere seemed a bit settled, Mrs. Dani changed the atmosphere of the classroom and brought us to a greeny forest. It was an illusion; she uses it to teach us everything we ought to know. "Okay, now let's start." She said, kneeling on one knee. Her eyes were closed, and it was as if she was trying to conjure something. But after a few seconds, the place we were started to rumble; it was like there was going to be an earthquake. "Whoa,?" I almost fell to the ground when Morgan stopped me from falling. "Are you okay? She asked.. "Yeah! I'm fine. I pulled away from her and gave my attention to the demonstration by Mrs. Dani. The earth was still rumbling when she walked up to a girl and asked her to stop the ground from shaking. The girl walked forward, a bit far from us; she placed her hand on the earth and tried to stop the ground from shaking. "Next person," Mrs. Dani sent her away, as she couldn't do it. The next girl came, and after another, no one could do it, including the boys in class. Morgan was the next person to try; after a lot of them had failed, she also couldn't stop the earth from moving, and after her, I came and gave it my best. "Calm down, Sonia; make the earth obey you. I closed my eyes and placed my hand on the earth, but I could still hear Mrs. Dani's advice. I did everything possible to stop the earth from shaking, but all to no avail. I failed woefully, as did the other students. Disappointed, Mrs. Dani stopped the earth from shaking and brought us back to the classroom, and we were all seated on our chairs... "Wow! I am so disappointed. She didn't hide her feelings from everyone in class. I was also disappointed; I cannot believe that. I couldn't even stop the ground from shaking. If I am the best in class, then why couldn't I do it? Mrs. Dani disconnected her class; she wasn't that disappointed to the point where she wanted everyone to leave; however, she had to ask everyone to go when Mr. Anderson walked into class and requested her presence for something urgent. Morgan and I both walked to the cafeteria. After leaving the classroom, at the academy, there weren't just the earth benders; we also had the water benders, the fire benders, and the air benders. We are all in the same academy and have one goal: to be able to control our powers so we can go back to the human world and leave like them. "Ma'am, may I have your delicious cake bread?" I spoke to the lunch lady, who was serving at the table, and waited for my turn. Morgan has gone to keep our tables and, while I go, get us something to eat. "Here you go. Mrs. Rita, the lunch lady, gave me two trays with a charming smile too. Thanks. I gave her the same positive attitude and left. With one hand, I carried my tray, and on the other, I was also holding Morgan's tray. I managed to reach our table at the window of the cafeteria without pouring it on the ground. I can remember what happened last time. I fell both of our food on the ground; it wasn't on purpose, but the fact that her royal highness, the Selena of the academy and daughter to the principal, Mitchell, got me to fall down by setting her legs in my path Mitchell is a fire bender; she's annoyingly good at it. Most of the boys in the academy want her for themselves; however, unfortunate for them, she's dating the heartthrob of every girl in school, Spencer James. He's an air bender and also good at his air bending. I shouldn't envy anyone, but Spencer and Mitchell are like the power couple in school—everyone's wish list, including my roommate.
