I joined in with the other students walking in the combat room. It's like a place where students get to test their powers; the ones that are the strongest get to parade around the academy with their shoulders held high, above their necks. Morgan and I both took a seat with the other many students along, and I didn't know Fatima was going to sit down next to us. Morgan attempted to scare her off, but she got interrupted when Mrs. Elena and her supervisor walked towards their chairs as the panel of judges. "Calm down, Morgan, please! I removed her hand from going toward Fatima; I wasn't sure letting her hand move any further; if not, she'd make Fatima go out of her chair and will eventually not find any empty ones because the entire chairs must have been taken away by students sitting on them. "I don't like this!" . She said this to me and threw my hands away. Out of resentment for Fatima, literally, I am the one she's sitting next to; why does it affect her so much? The first person was called in by the lady, anchoring the entire show. A girl from the fire team came outside, and she was asked to combat with the girl from the water team. Fire and water? What a nice combination. The two ladies both bowed their heads in front of each other, and before the commencement of their fight, the girl from the fire team lit a fire at the water girl. But she blocked it on time with her water, thereby quenching the fire. "Nice one, Sana!" . Her teammates saluted her while the rest jammed their hands and clapped. It was a good boost from the water team and the girl representing them. From my chair, I watched everything, detailing every detail of what was happening right in front of us. "Who is going to win?" Morgan asked me. "I don't know! But my money is on the water team," I said, not giving my support to the opposite team, which was beaming with anger. They were fire after all. "Zoe, don't you fail me! Mitchell yelled unexpectedly from her chair, and her team joined her. Even though her boyfriend is a water bender, why doesn't she want them to win? Aside from that, Mitchell loves no one other than herself. She loves to win, and nothing matters more to her than Spencer, her boyfriend. Sana from the water team made a water ball and began to fire at Zoe. Zoe was a bit clumpy at the last throw as she slipped on her toes and fell on the ground, and that gave her opponent, the water team, the chance to win over and take glory for beating the strongest team that has always won almost seven times. Last time, Mitchell made sure to wipe the air conditioner sent to interact with her. With her fire-bending, I don't think that girl will ever try to fight against Mitchell again. The combat was called off and the water team was declared the winners, and anyone who won has the opportunity to contest the soon-coming EMT Cup. It will happen in two weeks, and every professor is gearing up to have their best team player compete and have their names embroidered on the hall of fame. The next item on the list was the air and earth bender. Mrs. Dani gave Morgan the opportunity to contest; she feels I shouldn't be the one taking up the tasks, not until the EMT Cup begins. "Good luck, my fire cracker! I said as we both fist bumped. Thanks, Love," she grinned and rushed down to fight with her opponent from the air team. The lady anchoring the combat threw a line before letting my friend, Earth, bend against the airbender. "Let's go, Morgan! Yelled Mrs. Dani. In her spirited mood, I arose from my chair and started to cheer loudly for my friend. Come, Morgan," I called her in a high spirit, and I made the other earth benders clap along with me. Even Fatima supported me; she stood up from her chair and began clapping with me. The other team looked at us; my eyes diverted a bit more, and I caught Spencer staring at my face and smiling. I smiled back; I didn't quite spend most of the time staring at him. I turned back to Morgan and watched her escape every hit from the air. I could see the girl slowly getting tired, and as Mrs. Dani always tells us in her class, the best way to win over the opponent is to exhaust their energy to the point they fall on their knees exhausted, and then only you can be able to strike. Morgan drew her hand to the cheeks of the girls. And as she was about to hit her with the last punch, the girl turned around, knocked Morgan on the head, and made her fall to the ground, and immediately, the air team won. "f**k!!" . Mrs. Dani vented her frustration by angrily throwing away the bottle of water in her hand. Morgan was brought back to her chair, and she felt so humilated that she refused to look at me or anyone else. Even when I tried to talk to her, she pushed me off and covered her face with one of her expensive hairs that was on her head. The air team was declared the winner, and when more than one team fails, there will always be a rematch between the two fire teams and the earth team. "Sonia! Please come,?" Mrs. Dani called me. I went over to her chair and left my bags in the care of Morgan. She might be pissed, but I am sure she'd look after my things as well as her own. Yes, ma'am," I answered, eager to know why she had called me. "Dear, you're about to be called out to fight against a member of the fire team," she told me, and I looked worried. "Okay, but what is the problem?". I deciphered.. "Sonia!" She paused, taking out a hand on my shoulders. She pulled me closer and then said, "You're going to fight against Mitchell, can you? I watched her face turn pale.
