Third Person P.O.V When the boy, Ajax, saw Ely faint, he dodged an attack and disappeared. He kicked the other girl's back and she stumbled down, allowing him to catch Ely. "Who ordered you to come here, and what do you plan to do with this girl?" He asked, frustrated. "That girl will be the death of us all, which is why it is necessary that she be killed immediately." The woman said, she charged for Ajax but he threw a fireball at her until she finally disappeared. Ajax fell down on the ground. Half of his powers were lost after he used them in the mortal world. Ely woke up and found that she was on top of Ajax, so she immediately stood up. She gazed around and saw that the woman who threatened her life was now gone. She looked at Ajax and noticed that he had a tiny scar. "Are you alright? Can you stand up?" Elyse asked. Ajax was surprised when she offered him her hand. "I'm Elyse, by the way. Thank you for saving me." She said. "Ajax." The red-eyed boy replied. Their hands touched, signifying the start of their friendship. "Come, let's get you home." Ajax told her. Elyse sighed. She thought about the woman with the moon-shaped mark on her forehead. She didn't know who or what caused her and Ajax to meet, but she felt safe with him. "How many months are left before your birthday?" Ajax asked. The question surprised Elyse. Out of all the questions he could have asked, he chose to ask about her birthday. "Honestly, I only have three more days left!" Elyse exclaimed, obviously excited. Ajax kept his stoic expression. Elyse fell silent and shifted her gaze to the road. When the two of them arrived at her place, Elyse thanked Ajax and waved goodbye at him. He returned the gesture. "Ajax, wait!" Elyse called out. Ajax stopped in his tracks, and the girl gave him a necklace with a crescent moon pendant. "This serves as the symbol of my thanks. Whenever you feel sad, just look up at the sky and hold this." She said, and finally, the two parted ways for the night. ┊┊⋆┊┊ ☪︎ Ellise Point of View I woke up to the bright sun shining in my eyes. Once awake, I rushed downstairs to prepare breakfast. I cooked hotdog and bacon for my older sisters' breakfast and after that, I called them and immediately put on my uniform and ate my breakfast. After doing everything I needed to do, I informed Madam Emma that I was going to leave. "Madam Emma, I'll be off now." I said. I didn't wait for her answer before running off to school. While walking, I observed the tall skyscrapers that seemed as though they could reach the sky. When I entered the classroom, our teacher wasn't there yet. That was a relief. I sat beside my best friend, Catherine. "Hey, Ely. It's a miracle that you aren't late again today." She teased. "Well, I found a cute guy again." I told her. She immediately bombarded me with questions as to who he was until Ms. Celine arrived. "Class, we have a new student with us today." She said, and the conversations dwindled into whispers. It was the middle of the semester. Why were we still accepting trasferees? Ms. Celine signaled fort the student to come inside. A familiar face emerged, and my jaw immediately dropped. "You look like you wan't to eat the new student." Catherine joked. Unlike yesterday, his eyes were now black. Maybe he just had a thing for red contact lenses. "Introduce yourself to your classmates." Ms. Celine said. The boy spoke, "Ajax." Everyose seemed to be amazed by his stoic qualities. His eyes shifted to me and he seemed to lighten up. He winked at me, which made all the girls turn to me. They looked as if they wanted to kill me. "Unfair. How come you can get the new guy's attention right away?" One girl remarked. "There's nothing going on between us." I said. I was surprised when I heard a voice speak from behind me. "Who?" I turned around and my eyes widened. It was Ajax, and I could see that he was wearing the crescent moon necklace that I gave him. I sat down and he moved closer to the other chair so that he could sit beside me. There was a n awkward silence until Ms. Celine spoke. "Okay, class, I have another announcement to make. Every one of you has a chance to get into this exclusive Academy." She said. Everyone got all excited. I was just thinking about why Ajax was here. "All you have to do is write your name here and once you are verified, you may be accepted into the Academy." She gave each of us forms that we had to fill out. I glanced towards Ajax, who was already starting to fill out his form. "Ms. Celine, exactly what kind of school is this?" One of my classmates asked. "You will know as soon as they accept you, but if you aren't accepted, then you will never find out." Ms. Celine explained. How strange. Why can't they just tell us what kind of school it was? After we submitted the forms, Ms. Celine started to discuss Electromagnetic Waves. "Electromagnetic waves are the energy carrying waves produced by vibrating charges composed of oscillating electric and magnetic fields." She said. I didn't understand a thing, especially since it was science-related. I was more proficient in History. Ms. Celine continued discussing the lesson until she called my name. "Ms. Ely, did you get what I just said?" I nodded even though I didn't understand a single word from what she said. "Then give me the list of waves properties." She told me. I scratched my head, not knowing what to answer. "See, you can't answer my question. Who wants to help Ms. Ely?" Ms. Celine asked. Ajax raised his hand. My savior. "Frequency, Wavelength, Amplitude, Reflection, and Absorption." He said and returned to his seat. The entire class clapped for him. When I sat down I tapped his shoulder and thanked him, but he just continued to look forward.. "You have a quiz tomorrow. That's all for today." Ms. Celine said. She left the classroom and everyone started exiting the room for recess. "Should we eat?" I asked Ajax. He didn't answer, so I just pulled him with me. We were heading towards the classroom with the donuts and water we bought outside. Turns out that Ajax was quite the gentleman, he insisted that he pay for our food. "I'll pay, it's my treat since you helped me earlier." I said, but he quickly gave his money to the cashier. I couldn't do anything else but thank him. After class, I asked Ajax to go to the lake with me. "Come on Ely, you're choosing that boy over our friendship." Catherine pouted. I chuckled and gave her a warm embrace. "I'm not. You know you're my number one best friend." I said. Catherine smiled. "Yeah, yeah, anyway, just go already. Tell me when you become an item or when he breaks your heart, so I can slap him either way." She said. I laughed and told her that Ajax and I were just friends. We were really just friends. There was nothing going on between us at all. We arrived at the lake and sat next to the tree. I immediately broke the silence. "So, why did you transfer to our school?" I asked as I faced him. He looked at me and I shifted my gaze elsewhere. "For the Academy test." He explained. Just for the test? What test? The exam, the quiz, or the form? "Just because of that? Are you sure it isn't because you wanted to see me?" I laughed loudly so as not to embarrass myself. I was surprised when he held my hand. I felt my cheeks heating up. Everything was happening so fast. "Do you believe in magical worlds?" He asked. He was looking directly at me. I gulped nervously. I believe that the Earth has a dark side, but what do you mean?" I asked him. He let go of my hand at lay on the grass. "Do you know about Serenity and Solar?" He asked while looking at the sky. My head began to hurt as if there were memories forming. "Are you ok?" He asked as he held my elbow to support me. "My head hurts." I told him. I saw panic in his eyes, but nevertheless, he lifted me up bridal style. "Where are you taking me?" I asked, but I received no answer. I slowly lost consciousness. I woke up to someone tapping me. When I opened my eyes I saw Madam Emma looking at me. "What happened to me?" I asked her. She immediately stood up and scolded me. "You have a lot of explaining to do, young lady." Madam Emma said cloldly. I didn't know what she was talking about, all I remembered was Ajax lifting me up until I lost consciousness. "What is it, Madam Emma?" I asked. She turned to me and spoke. "Who's that guy who was carrying you? You're so young and yet you're already in a relationship?" She asked angrily. I explained that he was just a friend, but Maddam Emma wasn't convinced. She went back downstairs. I needed to go out and thank Ajax, but if Madam Emma caught me then she'd be even more furious than she already was. I heard something downstairs and when I looked closer, I saw that it was Ajax waving at me. I began to panic. What if Ma'am Emma caught him? I slowly crept downstairs. It seemed like everyone was asleep. When I was able to exit the house, I immediately hugged Ajax and thanked him. He hugged me back and I felt my cheeks burning up again, so I let go. "Why are you here?" I asked. "I just checked to see if you were alright, and it seems like you are, so I'll go." He said. We heard a vice speak, so we both hid behind the plants. "Who's there?" Madam Emma yelled. I soon realized that Ajaz was holding my waist, and my head was on his chest. I shifted in my position, but he pulled me and we both fell down. "Who's there, answer me!" Madam Emma was coming closer and closer to until my heart couldn't stop pounding.
