“You should’ve listened to her. You just couldn’t keep your mouth shut didn’t you? Now she’s gone” My wolf said
“I know what I did wrong, you don’t need to remind me” I scoffed
Yes, I admit I should’ve listen to her first. But I got jealous. Who wouldn’t? He is still a guy. I should have also followed her out. I felt her power a while back, maybe she needed to cool off.
I was walking back and forth getting worried. She’s still not back it’s almost 3 hours.
“ALPHA!” Cole shouted
“What is it Beta?” I asked, I have a bad feeling.
“Casler, she’s----“ He didn’t get to finish what he was about to say. I ran outside to see my mate being carried by one of the guards. I took her
“Alpha, we found her near the forest and she smells like---“
“Vampire” I continued his sentence.
“Look for any danger. And kill immediately. Got it?”
“Yes Alpha” They left and I did too, carrying my mate towards our room
I lay her down. I called the pack doctor but he said there’s nothing wrong with her. She was just exhausted. He just advised me to let her rest and she’ll be better in the morning.
When he left, my parents and Lily came in.
“Cas, wakie wakie” Lily said as she sat down beside her
“Lily, let her rest. The doctor said she needs it. Okay? She’ll be playing with you in the morning” I told her and she nodded but she refused to leave her side.
“What happened son?” My dad asked
“We had a fight and she ran away from me. I waited for her to come back but the guards found her unconscious near the woods and she smelled like a Vampire” I explained and feeling my anger boiling
“Let’s ask her when she wakes up. It’s late, we need to talk about this tomorrow.” My mom said
“I already informed her family. They will be here tomorrow. So for now let’s all rest” My dad said
I nodded. They all left including Lily. She fell asleep and I ordered Cole to take her to her room but mom insisted that dad would carry her and tuck her in. So they did. I was left alone with my beautiful mate.
I lay down beside her. Held her in my arms.
“I’m sorry” I whispered and I fell asleep.

I woke up feeling good. That was the best sleep I had my entire life. I look at her and she’s still asleep. She is snuggled up in my arms and I like how it feels.
She stirred and she lets me go. Well, I guess that’s enough for today.
“Bab---Cas, are you awake?” I whispered staring at her.
“What? what time is it?” she asked yawning
I chuckled “It’s eight in the morning. We need to go down for breakfast already”
I think she registered in her mind that she is in our bed, in our room. With only me as her company. She fell down
“Ouch!” holding her bum
“Are you okay?” I immediately stood up and went to her side asked worried
“Yes, fine. What happened, why am I here?” She asked
“You tell me what happened. They found you unconscious in the woods smelling like a vampire. Did anyone hurt you?” I asked helping her to stand up
“No, I just saw a friend along the way” she said casually
“ A vampire friend?” I asked
“Yes. Actually a friend of Lucas, we just met yesterday”
“Oh” was all I manage to say
“He was uhmmmm…” she was trying to think, and she’s cute when she does that face
“Oh! Damien. Yes, he hugged me maybe that’s why I smelled like a vampire”
I frowned.
“Don’t worry, he was just a friend. Well I’m leaving now. I need to change and a shower” she said and I didn’t get the chance to talk. She just left

“Blushing? Why are you blushing?” Crystal teased
“Shut up, Oh my goodness, why did they bring me to his room! That was so embarrassing” I answered
She just laughed at me and I shut her out.
I walked towards my room and closed the door behind me. I immediately took a shower and change my clothes. I decided to wear a fitted white shirt and pants. I am trying something new and I paired it with white shoes.
I stepped out of my room and straight to the kitchen, then I heard familiar voices.
“What happened to her? Is she okay? Is she awake?” that was my father’s voice
“Yes, she’s awake, she’ll be down here any----there she is” James said and they all looked at me
“My baby!” my mother said and hugged me
“Are you hurt? Who dared to do that?” My dad asked as he tucks my hair behind my ears
“I’m fine. Don’t worry. I just needed to cool off and I got exhausted. And met a friend. A vampire to be exact and went back but fainted” I explained
“A vampire?” Alex asked
“Yes but I am fine” I said
“Why did you needed to cool off?’ Alice asked
“Ahhh about that…..We had a fight and felt my powers surfacing….and you know” I tried explaining
“Why’d you make her mad? Did you know she never gets mad at our house? Irritated, yes but not mad at this point” Bryan said
“Oh my goodness can you please stop? I am fine. Whole. The Vampire was Damien. He was a friend of Lucas.” I explained
Now I realized, my family spoil me too much.
“Why did you fight exactly?” Mom asked
“He punched Lorcan, he couldn’t keep his mouth shut and I was angry, he didn’t let me explain and felt my powers so I had to run” I explained
“Maybe you should stay away from Lorcan” Alex said
I sighed “I didn’t want to say this but he is human. Don’t worry about him. His wolf died already, he can’t have a mate. Or maybe there would be one but that’s rare and you know that. And I am not interested in him. He is a nice friend” I explained
They were all shocked. Well they didn’t know. They shouldn’t know. That’s why he’s been staying at New York for some time now. He is living human, living with humans.
“So I need to eat. I am hungry” I said and tried to find something to eat
I decided to eat some left over spaghetti.
“The coronation is getting nearer. You need to mark each other then” My dad said looking at me and I choked at my food. Alex handed me water.
“WHAT?” I said as I catch my breath
“Yes, it’s the day after tomorrow, full moon. You need to mark each other. Didn’t he tell you?” His father said.
“WHAT?” I said again, because I can’t really believe this. Goodness no one told me this was going to happen soon.
“I was supposed to tell you yesterday but you know this happened” James said
I glared at him.
“Hell no” I said
“You can’t say no. You have no choice” Alex said
“But---“ “Not this time princess” Bryan said
“That always work” I pouted
Well I can’t eat anymore. I don’t have appetite. I dropped the fork I was using and stood up.
“Where are you going?” James asked as he held my arm
“To see a friend” I said and pull my arms out of his grip, I successfully did.
I need to ask him questions.
“Who? That Vampire? Hell no. You are not going back, back there” James said
“I agree with him” Alex answered
“He won’t hurt me if that’s what you think. Brother trust me” I said looking at Alex intently
He sighed and nodded “Just be careful, mind link me if something happens okay?” I nodded
“Are you sure it’s safe baby? Maybe you should go with…at least with Beta Cole or your brother Bryan” Mom said worried
“It’s fine mom. Damien is there to protect me” I tell her
“I don’t trust vampires but I trust you honey, but if you’re not back in an hour, I will personally look for you” Dad said
“Thank you mom, dad” I tell them and hug them
I was about to leave when James stopped me again.
“Just because he said he would protect you means he would not hurt you”
“He wouldn’t do that. Did you see any bruises when I came back? I get bruises here with you, so answer me how can I say I am safe here with you?” I ask and tear came running down my face, he lets me go and I turn my back at him because I knew I hurt him.
I walk back out to the woods. Far enough to lose sight of the pack house. I shifted to my wolf and I ran towards the river I saw yesterday.
I shifted back to human form and call for his name, waiting and wondering if he would show up here again.
