Chapter 13

Casler

“Do you still miss Lucas?” Crystal asked

“Why would you even ask me that, tala”

“Yes or no”

“Of course I do. You know the answer to that, and you keep on asking. What’s wrong with you?”

That’s weird she didn’t respond back. Well I better get ready then.

I was about to get off to bed but I was stopped by a sudden knock on my door.

“Who is it?” I asked

“Oh come on, can’t you sniff?” the door slammed open and I can see my two i***t brothers

“Bryan!!!! Oh my goodness, my brothers are here” I smiled and jumped into their arms

“Wow” Bryan said

“What? I missed you, you didn’t visit me last week. I didn’t get to see you”

“Hurry up missy, take a bath and we’ll dry your hair” Alex said kissing my head

I nodded and quickly showered. I wiped myself and begun clothing. I wear the usual clothes, shorts and a crop top. I get out of the bathroom and lay down in bed with my hair hanging on the edge.

They started drying my hair. “Why didn’t you come here last week?”

“We got too busy with everything and you know Alice is pregnant I cannot take my eyes off her” Alex explained

“And you?” I asked looking at an upside down Bryan

“you know if he’s busy, I am too” he said and I understood. There has been a lot going on and I understand that they cannot just go her and leave their pack.

“Who’s been drying your hair then?” Alex asked

I closed my eyes. “For the first two weeks, it was beta Cole and now Alpha James”

“He didn’t mind?” Bryan asked

“Nope, he told me that he should be the one doing that for me” I said opening my eyes and sitting up

“Ohhh a Jelaous alpha, I would love to see that.” Bryan teased

I threw a pillow at him. And laughed

“I am really thankful because you learned to smile again” Alex looking at me in awe

“You know I am thankful that even though my real family died, I met you all” I said

We stared at each other for a second and the door opened again. I guess so much for privacy.

“Cas” I weak little voice came in. Lily was crying

I stood up and picked her up.

“Why are you crying? Stop it” I said in a sweet voice

“my bwother---“ she couldn’t finish what she was talking about but it was clear that it was James who  did wrong and made her cry.

“Can you stay with my brother’s for a while? I am sure you would love them I would be back. Can you do that for me?” I asked wiping her tears and she nodded

“Look out for her for me, please? I need to talk the Alpha” and they both said yes and started comforting Lily

I left my room and as soon as I closed the door, I closed my eyes to see where is that stupid Alpha who made his little sister cry.

I opened my eyes and came running downstairs until I reached the kitchen.

“What did you do to Lily?” I asked pretending to be not mad. I sat down beside him while he was eating his breakfast

He didn’t answer.

“Okay then, I wonder where Cole is. Maybe he would know” I said standing up

He gripped my hands and I fell down on his lap. Too can play this game.

I snaked my hands in his neck and stared at his eyes.

“You won’t like this game you’re playing” he said and his eyes are changing, his hungry for something, I can sense it’s lust.

“Well, if the Alpha can tell me what’s wrong with Lily…..”I paused and came near his ears

“Maybe we could play something”

He put his head on my neck and sniffed me. I should do more. That’s why I decided to moan.

“I accidentally threw away her favorite doll and when I got it back it was torn too pieces” he explained still facing my neck

“Hmmmm….accidentally?” I asked, I need more explanation

“Well, I was mad and threw it away and I didn’t expect the maids would throw it away. I was mad because of something not at her though” he said

I see. I stood up.

“What? why?’ he groaned. He tried pulling me again but I didn’t budge

“I told you I love your sister more than anything else. Why would you do that?’ I shouted

“It was an accident’. I didn’t even realize it was her doll. Come one baby” he said pleading, I smiled and left.

He shouted for my name but I immediately went to my room.

“Brother’s I need help” I said and went to my bed covering myself

“What did you do?” they both asked

Then James came in my room. They started laughing at him.

“See what your sister’s did?” he shouted at them “it’s not even funny!”

“You know Cas, you didn’t need to do that. Now look at him” Bryan said

“What’s wong?” Lily asked

“Nothing Lily. You should forgive your brother, it was an accident okay?” I said and uncovering myself

They all laughed but James was glaring at me.

These past few weeks has been great. It started when he came to the orphanage with me and took care of the kid with two different eye colors. After that, our relationship got better. But it’s not I am ready to love again but I consider him as a friend now.

“You know my brother would be very happy” Lorcan says as we stroll around the garden

Looking around I noticed that it’s full of flowers different kinds.

“At least one of us is happy” I mumbled and sighed

“Why don’t you open your heart to him? You know?”

“I don’t…I am not sure if I’m ready. I still miss your brother” I stopped walking and he also did

He cupped my face.” Give him a chance, okay?” he looks at me in the eye and kissed my temples, and I closed my eyes.

Then the comfort I felt was suddenly gone, I opened my eyes and saw James punching Lorcan.

My eyes widen “GOODNESSS ALPHA STOP PLEASE!” I shouted

“How dare you go lovey dovey in my territory!” he kept punching him

I wondered why Lorcan didn’t stop him and I know he could but he didn’t

I can’t think of anything else, I decided to pull him and hugged him

“LET GO OF ME!” he shouted

“PLEASE STOP. IT’S NOT WHAT YOU THINK” I am now crying and begging him

I see Lorcan trying to compose himself. Luckily, he’s a fast healer though every punch would leave a mark.

James calmed down. I let go of him and he looked at Lorcan one more time and left.

“Cole please take Lorcan to the pack doctor. I will just follow him. Thank you” I said and running to go and follow him

I opened the door and he was trashing his room.

“Alp---James. Please stop this” I say

He didn’t stop, he was throwing everything on the wall.

“James, please just listen to me. Please”

He threw the vase with full force and some hit my cheeks. And I feel it bleeding. I hissed. He looked at me with concern in his eyes, but still didn’t move. We are standing a few feet from each other.

I try to take a step but he moves backward.

“James it’s not what you think. He’s…just….He’s…”

“What? You like him? You’re going to reject me? Is that why you refuse to give me a chance?” He asked, I looked at him in the eyes and he is filled with anger and hurt

“No, I….—“ he cuts me off again “Then what? you just need him with you instead of me?”

“James just please lis---“ “Listen to you? So that you could tell me you’re just here because you need to train?”

I shake my head, anger is filling up and I am trying to control myself. I don’t know how to control my powers just yet. I feel myself heating up.

“James” “what? is everything I said true?”

“James” I try again “Just don’t, you can leave now”  he turned his back and walking towards the bathroom but before he could

“Lorcan doesn’t have a mate, his wolf is dead” I said and he stopped. I couldn’t take it anymore so I immediately run out. I needed air. I ran towards the forest and shifted to my wolf.

Where are we going?” Crystal asked

“I don’t know, just run for a while, I don’t care where just not back there” I said

She didn’t answer and she just ran.

I don’t know how long it was but I felt tired already. I shifted back to my human form and change

into my clothes again that I tied in my ankles. I found a nearby river and decided to rest.

I looked up into the sky.

“Lucas, can you hear me? How are you? Can you see me now?” I said

“I wish you could tell me what to do”

“I can’t decide for myself. I always have someone to do it for me. I had you, my parents, my brothers but now I have no one.”

Then I felt someone near. I became alert.

“Come out, I don’t have time for games, I am not in the mood” I said still staring at the water

He was fast.

“What’s a werewolf doing here alone?”

Vampire.

“None of your f*****g business. What do you want?” I asked in anger

“Relax Casler.” I turned around to face him, I am now confused

“Ohhh right, we haven’t met before. Damien, a friend of Lucas.” He reach out his hand, I looked at it and shake my head

“Impossible. He never mentioned anything to me. What’s your deal”

“I am really a friend of Lucas. I look out for any danger that comes to you. He told you were special to him. He knew he was going to lose that day but he chose to fight” Damien said

“Why didn’t you bite him then? To turn him? So that he could live?” I asked hoping for an answer that could ease my mind

“He didn’t like the idea. He thought of you because if I turned him, he would still be dead. Nothing still changes” He explained

“Don’t cry. You should go back to your Mate. He’s worried.” He added and hugged me

I nodded and he lets go of me. He disappeared almost immediately. And I decided to walk back to the pack house. But as I walk back I feel myself getting weaker and weaker and then when I was so close to get out of the woods, everything went black
