The Heir’s Revenge.

By Adeniyi Adeola.

Short Synopsis

**She was supposed to die in the flames. Instead, she woke up three weeks before the wedding—with every memory intact, and a debt to collect.**

Extended Book Description

Clara Eldridge had everything a woman of high society could desire: an enviable family legacy, an eighty-million-dollar estate trust, and a handsome fiancé who promised to protect her world. But on a freezing night in the dark, windowless cellar of her family’s country manor, the grand illusion burned to ash.

Betrayed by her fiancé, Julian Thorne, and her trusted maid of honor, Elena, Clara was left bleeding on cold stone as flames consumed the estate. Her entire life had been systematically bled dry to fuel their greed and fund a ruthless corporate takeover. As the heat tore the air from her lungs and the heavy brass deadbolt locked her in the dark, Clara took her final breath believing everything was lost.

Then, she opened her eyes.

Waking up in her own bed three weeks before the fatal night, Clara realizes she has been given the ultimate weapon: absolute foresight. The fragile, compliant heiress who once apologized for taking up space is gone. In her place stands a calculated strategist who knows every move, every secret, and every lie before it happens.

Determined to save her father’s legacy company, Eldridge Global, and dismantle her betrayers piece by piece, Clara steps into a dangerous game of corporate warfare. She immediately revokes Julian’s legal authority, aligns herself with a disgraced rogue attorney who plays by no one's rules, and plants lethal financial traps hidden deep inside joint indemnity waivers and dark-pool stock trading.

Julian and Elena still believe they are playing a simple game with an obedient bride. They have no idea that every quiet smile Clara offers is a distraction, every sudden shift in the estate trust is a setup, and every step they take brings them closer to total public and financial ruin.

From tense boardroom confrontations and high-stakes SEC filings to secret offshore depositions and thrilling legal battles, Clara turns the hunter into the hunted. She won't just survive the betrayal this time—she will reclaim her empire and force her enemies to pay the ultimate debt.

THE HEIR'S REVENGE
CHAPTER 1 The betrayal arrived not as a sudden scream, but as the quiet click of a brass deadbolt. Clara lay on the cold travertine tile of the estate cellar, her breath rattling behind fractured ribs. Above her stood Julian, immaculate in his charcoal suit, absentmindedly spinning his silver signet ring. Beside him, his fingers intertwined with hers, was Elena—wearing the pearl earrings Clara had gifted her for being maid of honor. "The police will find the wine rack tipped over," Julian said, his voice carrying the calm, reasonable tone he used for board meetings. "An tragic accident during wedding prep." "Julian..." Clara choked on the metallic tang of blood. "Why?" Elena didn't look away. She simply adjusted her stance, her heel coming down sharp on Clara’s outstretched hand. "Because you were always the heir, Clara. But Julian and I were always the ones running the estate." The heavy oak door shut, swallowing the light. Then came the slosh of accelerant against wood, the faint hiss of a lit match, and the rush of heat that tore the air from her lungs. Clara stared up at the cracks in the ceiling, watching the reflection of the flames flicker in her ring’s emerald stone until the blackness took her completely. Clara gasped, sitting bolt upright as cold air flooded her throat. She slammed a hand over her chest, expecting charred silk and blisters, but found only soft, unblemished cotton. Her heart hammered against her ribs, entirely whole. She was not in the cellar. The air smelled of lavender and French polish. Soft morning light filtered through sheer silk drapes, illuminating the mahogany vanity table she had sold two years ago to fund Julian’s first venture. Her phone chimed on the nightstand. She reached for it with a trembling hand. *October 12.* Three weeks before the wedding. A firm knock echoed through the suite, followed by the click of the latch. Julian stepped inside, holding two crystal flutes and a bottle of vintage champagne, his smile practiced and effortless. "Morning, darling," he said, stepping toward the bed. "I brought a toast. The caterers just confirmed the menu, and—" He stopped. Clara hadn't flinched. She hadn't smiled. She sat completely still, watching him with pale, unblinking eyes. The panic that usually scrambled her thoughts whenever he entered the room was gone, replaced by a strange, heavy silence. "Clara?" Julian hesitated, his smile wavering slightly. "Are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost." Clara slowly swung her legs over the side of the bed, her bare feet hitting the cold floorboards. She looked at Julian, taking in the crisp line of his jaw, the silver ring on his finger, and the casual confidence of a man who believed he held every piece of the board. She leaned back, resting her hands in her lap, and offered him a slow, razor-thin smile. "I'm fine, Julian," she said softly. "I was just thinking about the menu."
