Elijah's POV:
While leaning against the headboard of the bed with Ravyn laying in my arms, I couldn't stop thinking about what it was that we had just done. Not only could the fact that I just had s*x with her get me fired from my job if Chief Officer Detective Thomas were to find out, but what if Xavier found out? I don't think under normal circumstances Xavier would kill me but since I just bedded her before he did, that would be enough to piss him off to the degree of killing me. Then, you have her father. I don't even want to think about what he would do to me before he killed me. The thoughts and images of what he would do to me were enough to scare the confession right out of me.
It scared me enough for my eyes to wander all over the floor to see if I could find her purse somewhere
