Chapter 28I finally track down Poullet at his house and when I ring the doorbell, it is he who opens the door. “Danielle,” he says by way of a greeting, but he doesn't step aside or invite me in. “I need to speak to you about Madame Falandry. May I come in?” I ask. “Have you not been to my office?” he replies shortly. “Did you not see the sign saying I'm on holiday? Can't this wait?” He still blocks the doorway. “I also wish to discuss Monsieur Didier Lamont, Monsieur Denis Manet and Madame Emmanuelle Large,” I add. He stares hard into my eyes. I return his gaze, unflinching. “You'd better come in,” he finally agrees and he steps aside to let me enter. When we are seated in his study he asks, “How did you find out?” “Gregory Armand,” I answer. “But the man is dead,” Poullet says.
