A Initiation to Remember

1022 Words
Andrew Winter, I was finally at the pack house, and slightly embarrassed that Ashley was rather blunt towards the people who were going to be my family and friends to help and protect, not just her. Looking at Chris who was a little upset, but did not react towards the departure of Ashley and turned back to Austin, or known as Junior. There was an extended silence as if speaking internally for a couple moments. Andrew felt awkward, but also eager to join the pack and have the capability to speak to others through the mind as well. "Mr. Winter, you are here for initiation, is that correct?" asked the other guy in the room, who held himself slightly taller and trying to appear stronger in front of the newcomer. "yes sir..." I muttered softly, shy to be called to, but also wanting to be seen as a member of the pack eventually. They started to look back at each other, almost like a quiet communication once more and it made me curious once more of what was being said. "Follow me, mister winter. We will start the initiation soon." The other boy said, before guiding me, with Chris walking behind me and leading us to a different place in the whole house. It took a little while to navigate the rooms and halls, until we got to the destination which seems to be an office, but that thought was quickly removed when someone else spoke. "Greetings Andrew Winter, you look quite like your father... even with your mother.." the man that was in the room spoke, muttering the last part gruffly, and gave a slight smile towards me. "I am Austin Pierce, current alpha and my son is Austin Junior and will be initiating you." he spoke, looking with a smile in his eye at the boy who lead me, Austin or Junior Pierce. "We will have a few tests for you, Andrew, one is sparring Chris the current Beta. Than a couple group trials with different people, see how you work with other people of the pack and if they are good around you too."  They said, both Austin’s nodded imperceptibly at the two current tasks. "If you are not a fighter, we can find other tasks to help a pack sustain their community, by being good around others is rather necessary." Austin Pierce senior spoke, setting the tone of being friends with most, if not all the members of the pack I was to try and join. Feeling small drops of stress sweat drip down the back of my shirt, like a pool of nerves. Andrew Winter felt the task was rather daunting, but also wanted to gain this family as he always felt closer to his father. Even when his father suddenly disappeared from his own life, and he had only his mother and sister in his life left. “Could you tell me what my father was like?” Andrew asked, he never was told, but always assumed there was resemblance to their father somewhere. Austin Pierce Senior looked at the thirteen year old boy joining the pack with softened eyes and spoke with a gruff voice, "We will speak of the family after everyone's school day. Please take your studies seriously along with everyone else." He spoke just as sternly with every other pack member, but felt a small tug at his heart for how Andrew was lost in not knowing his own father. ------ At the school, the Pack arrived after a long while and a couple different vehicles helping the members get to their destination. Andrew was still a bit lost by his thoughts on his supposed father, but gave a soft smile at hopefully being accepted by Austin Pierce Senior and Junior, along with the many others of the pack. The task of gaining their trust in doing different tasks around the pack grounds will be tiring, but well worth it to belong somewhere more than the cottage that He and Ashley have been staying in. The time spent in the cottage was pleasant, for any other memories that were less then ideal seemed to be tucked away, almost like it was tugged under a rug, or behind an invisible door, not quite remembered, but known as there. Andrew knew there was some bad history in the home, but his memories would not allow him to recall it and even Ashley shrugged it off and explained it as, "Some memories are worth forgetting." Which only made him more curious what is being forgotten forcefully or not. Ashley's vibrant plum locks were sometimes caught in sight, but each time Andrew looked for the same color of his sister's hair, she was gone or the plum locks were no where to be seen.  Having little point in staying in one spot, Andrew gathered his class schedule and headed off to his own class as well. He was sharing many classes that was a mix of having his Packmates to be, and his sister in them, which made him feel a slight warmth that there would hopefully be no divide for either of them. In no exact order, Andrew was taking P.E., Math in society, Study hall, Nutrition, Lunch was a mid-day block and given random times to students. He was also taking Drama, science, and biology. For to Andrew, he found medicine interesting and wanted to become a doctor, but could not remember what really drove him to want to become one. He just knew that they were good to their patients, and tried to solve problems, which for him, he wanted to do them same. P.E. was the subject almost everyone he knew was taking, while some people chose to have it at a different time, either too tired to do p.e. yet, or just not interested in the class. He was jogging next to his sister, as she kept her pace rather well and spoke kindly to him. If any other packmate spoke to him, or tried to speak with her directly, Ashley would blatantly ignore them and their efforts firmly.
