Be-tra(y)ined

Prince Jaden was out in the garden taking inspiration from nature as he applied beautiful bright colours on the canvas , giving it a unique positive look . The sun above was not to hot when he started working on his art piece , but it's been over 2 hours and it's already over the head making him sweat heavily . He looked over the sun and then at his almost finished painting and decided to complete it before heading for a bath . In the meanwhile , his servants prepared the bath and after that he had dinner along with his father and brother .  He finished his painting and stood there admiring it for a minute . When his brother Prince Jason came beside him  "That's a beautiful piece of painting you got there" Price Jaden painted a beautiful garden wih different bright coloured flowers in line , the lawn was covered with small green grass and their saplings with sun over the head and a girl swinging on one of the branches of big banayan tree while a boy pushed her forward everytime . " And to what do I owe this pleasure " Prince Jaden asked .  " Stop being so formal we are brothers and I ,even though I am older , I allow you to talk to me informally " Jason said in a dramatic way . " We are same age" Jaden exclaimed . Even though they were same age Jason was always one step ahead , he rolled first , walked first and spoke first while Jaden was always the second in everything , but he was no less than his brother , he was good at everything they both were as a Prince is supposed to be , and therefore ,a perfect competition for each other . After ordering one of the servants to take care of painting and all the equipments they walked towards their room .  "You ready for the dinner tonight , the ministers are going to be there , I heard they are going to discuss and ask our opinions about this year's Pitamahi day ." Said Prince Jason " Oh yes I actually have some ideas which I am sure, one of them will be selected " Prince Jaden said confidentially  "You seem confident " Prince Jason chuckled  " What about you ? Any ideas " "Nahh not yet , but i do have some opinions on how to make it better than last year "  "Thats great , okay then meet you there , i should get some heat off before i go there " they laughed and went to their seperate rooms  Prince Jaden was patient enough , but once he got angry or feel any negative emotions it was hard for him or anyone else to pull him out of it . Afterall he was a Brits and the brits never had a really good temper , but Since King Vincent's reign they were going better , they were still regretting and in every way they can paying for the sins of their forefathers .  After the bath Prince Jaden got dressed and went to join his father and his brother along with senior ministers for dinner . King sat on one of the arm chairs with his two sons on either side of him on side chairs while the senior minister sat on the opposite arm chair as of King . Three other seats were occupied by royal family , and the rest five by ministers of State management .  Dining table was loaded with food , Queen was a food enthusiast and tasted every item before being served , if found unsuitable to serve she either gave it away or threw it . After the hardwork of carrying a kingdom on his shoulder she always wanted to present his beloved husband to be served right and tasty food and never trusted anyone but her own taste buds on it .  The soup was served first it's fragrance filled the air as everyone took a sip they hummed at how delicious it tasted on their tongue. As they proceeded with the dinner , they also started with the discussion about the Pitamahi- day which was not very far . This dinner was mainly arranged for this discussion .  Like every year the royal family will be serving brekfast , lunch and dinner in the great hall for 3 consecutive days . ,followed by , workshops , and competitions and celebrations .  It was a tradition more of a ritual to celebrate this day , it was also redemption for the cruelty of their ancestors while being in the reign .  The day kingdom became free of the dominance of cruel kingship , was also the day when King Vincent after witnessing his father's burtality towards his mother , took control of kingdom in his hand by force and support of ministry , and gave his father a death sentence . He did it all for his mother , and in turn also saved the kingdom . This year marks 35 years to the anniversary of that day . King Vincent and all the family still regret all the cruelty dwelled upon by his ancestors . Every year all the royals asked for apologies and tried redeeming sins of their ancestors .  This year King Vincent wanted something creative to be done from the normal diner they had every year . He asked Prince Jaden and Prince Jason to come up with ideas . Also to have it approved he also invited ministry .  "So my dear sons what have you thought , I hope there are some great ideas you want to share with us " "Father ,May I ..." Prince Jaden asked while bowing his head a little King nodded in approval .  " As we all know this day is celebrated so we all can attain redemption for the past sins of our family members , I think it will be great if all the royal family members participated in the event , like serving the dishes , cleaning them after and also the main hall , decoration and everything that is needed to be done shall be done by the royal family members , all while dressing in normal attire" "Great idea brother, but royal family don't have as many members to take up all the task ," Prince Jason spoke  "Yes and we are also not as good as people who do that work daily, we need to prepare for it " Princess Beth suggested  "Then we can ask the villagers to volunteer if they want , no forcing only if the want , and we can prepare for it altogether, thank you for both your suggestions " Prince Jason added . "Thats a nice idea , the good thing is you all have time to prepare yourselves , so start it right away " "And Prince Jason what idea have you brought to please me ?" King spoke with utter calm in his voice .  "Father , I was thinking if we can do more than just organising dinner, " Everyone's eyebrows was furrowed in confusion .  "We can organise workshops , competitions , free health check-up , and celebration for the commoners . And King can award then if King wants to " "Great idea, I like both the ideas, but its one thing coming up with an idea and a whole another thing implementing it in reality . I hope both the Prince take charges and make this year an year where we finally attain redemption ."  Everyone clapped at Kings word and later congratulated both the Prince for coming up with such ideas . After the dinner both the Prince discussed about the responsibilities , with a final decision of working on it from the next day they went to sleep
