Untitled Episode1
Space, the final frontier. In the depth of space, a shaft of light zoomed past - a tiny object, spherical like an ice ball, flickering with countless dazzling sparks. It pierced through the atmosphere, heading towards a small city on Earth. As the sun dipped below the horizon, a canvas of red clouds unfurled across the sky.Feng Wuji sat on top of the school building, tears streaming down his face as he watched the sunset. "Such a sunset... truly mesmerizing." Not one to be emotionally stirred easily, the sight of the setting sun made his heart weep. He was in pain.At this moment, Feng's face was swollen with bruises, and the lenses of his black-framed glasses shattered, painting a picture of misery. He winced as he pulled out a mirror from his bag, cursing softly at the reflection, "Damn, that was too harsh! Do you want to ruin my face? Do you feel uneasy unless you bully me? Damn it!" In the mirror, Feng Wuji, who was quite ordinary to begin with, now looked grotesque with those scars - almost like a pig's head. His slightly overweight figure, coupled with the "swollen face," seemed all too fitting. The events that led here were unremarkable.Feng Wuji was an average high school student: nearsighted, overweight, timid, and from a poor household. His parents had passed away early, leaving him to the care of his spiteful and miserly aunt. Yet, it was this ordinary student who consistently found himself at the bottom of the pecking order among the school's bullies. Ordinary thugs and hoodlums often glanced his way "unpleasantly," relishing the chance to beat him up when they had nothing better to do. Teachers, not fond of this academically poor and ‘useless’ student, naturally didn't stand up for him.So, today was no different; he had been picked on by a few of the school's bully students."Damn it, just give me a chance! If I do, I'll beat you within an inch of your lives, let you taste what it's like to lay in bed for a month! No, three months! No, half a year! Damn it, I'll make it so you can't take care of yourselves even in daily life, so you have to...move in bed..." Feng Wuji muttered to himself, cursing vehemently under his breath.Bang..."Damn, why can't I have such good luck to go on an adventure? Or have a master teach me some skills."Boom..."Ah, it seems like novels and comics are still misleading, making one fall into fantasy. Daydreaming like this all day isn't getting me anywhere. Should I learn some self-defense like taekwondo? But I don't have the money..."Blast..."Huh? Where's that noise coming from?" Feng Wuji looked around, hearing the sound of an airplane overhead, but... why was it getting louder? "What's that?!"His gaze transfixed on the sky, a meteor tinged with an eerie red glow was hurtling directly towards him! The meteor wasn't large, but it was incredibly bright against the half-dark of dusk."A meteor?!" Feng Wuji was petrified, his mind went blank. What would be the aftermath of a meteor hitting the ground? A meteor, said to be the size of a watermelon, would crash with the force of a powerful bomb! Suddenly, scenes from childhood flashed before Feng Wuji's eyes, those memories flickering through his mind like a lantern..."Father!"Thud, thud, thud... glug...Contrary to the anticipated thunderous roar, what followed was a minuscule sound, like that of a marble glass ball falling to the ground. It took a while for Feng Wuji to return to his senses, soaked in a cold sweat, as if he had just walked a narrow escape path from the gates of hell."Oh my God, I thought I saw the brilliant flower sea by the Sanhu Riverbank and saw my deceased grandfather waving at me across the bank..." Feng Wuji wiped the cold sweat from his forehead while starting to search for the "meteorite" that had nearly scared him to death. It didn't take long for him to find the object, but it was surprisingly small, the size of a thumb, a little ice ball."How strange, how could such a trivial thing make such a deafening noise? I thought it was a huge stone!" Feng Wuji held the tiny ice ball in his hand, and before he could react, it quickly melted into a puddle of water under the warmth of his palm."Damn, that's it?" Feng Wuji was somewhat depressed. Such an exhilarating event was not easy to come by, yet it ended up half-baked like that. Suddenly, a wave of intense dizziness washed over him. Before he knew it, he collapsed, falling into a deep slumber. On the silent rooftop, a cold wind whistled by. All at once, the puddle from the melted ice ball seemed to come to life. It slowly crawled up Feng Wuji's body, twisting ever so slightly, then completely penetrated his skin without leaving a single mark.Unbeknownst to him, night passed. The first rays of the morning sun gently caressed Feng Wuji's face. He murmured something, as if he had seen something marvelous in his dreams, turned over, and decided to continue sleeping. Suddenly, a sparrow fluttered over and settled in the mess of his hair, chirped twice, then left an indecorous gift on his head. Jolted by the shock, Feng Wuji sat up abruptly, nearly scaring the sparrow to death—it certainly hadn't expected its "restroom" to still be alive, so it shrieked and flew away. After a long time, Feng Wuji woke up completely as if he had just woke up from a dream. He looked around the surrounding environment and couldn't help but let out a cry of extreme misery.
"Wow! I actually slept on the roof last night? Could it be that I've been possessed?" Soon, he recalled what happened last night. "I first enjoyed the sunset here leisurely, then a meteorite fell from the sky, but it was just a small ice ball... What happened later? Later, I passed out? So, that ice ball must be weird!" Then, Feng Wuji also felt that his body seemed a little unusual, but he couldn't say exactly what was strange.
He looked around, and found that his eyes seemed to have a problem, and what he saw seemed to be somewhat distorted and deformed.
"Eh? Strange." Feng Wuji tried to take off his glasses, and couldn't help being stunned: his highly nearsighted eyes had recovered as if nothing had happened! The distant buildings and houses were clearly visible, and he could even tell whether the flies climbing on the wall were male or female!
"My goodness! Isn't that amazing?" Feng Wuji stared wide-eyed, extremely excited, and looked around constantly. After a while, he suddenly remembered that this matter seemed not that simple. "Could it be, this has some kind of connection with my sleeping on the roof all night? Or, was my body transformed by the ice ball that fell from the sky? Wow ka ka, could it really be an adventure like a timely rain falling on me?!
Thinking of the "adventure", a wave of irrepressible anticipation rose in Feng Wuji's heart. He deeply realized that the series of wonderful events that happened last night were likely to become a crucial turning point in his life. He sincerely appreciated this precious opportunity granted by God, and at the same time, a burning determination flared up in his heart. He must firmly grasp it.
In the long years to come, Feng Wuji is determined to face the vast and endless unknown world more bravely, move forward bravely, and never retreat. He will hold a full passion and persistence, and delve deeper into the wonderful changes in his own body. He is determined to find out what kind of surprising situation this adventure will bring to him, as well as the possible numerous difficult challenges.
