The hallway buzzled with students hurrying to class, but Catherine and Jonathan moved through the crowd as if they were in their own world. Jonathan casually leaned towards her, intertwining their fingers before anyone could tease them. Catherine tried to walk ahead, but Jonathan caught the strap of her backpack. “Where did you think you’re going?” “ chemistry class” “Without giving me my good luck hug?” She rolled her eyes dramatically. “You’re impossible” “Yet you’re still with me” She smiled before wrapping her arms around him briefly. A few students playfully cheer from nearby, some whispered about how they had been together since their first year in high school. “You’re going to make me late” Catherine laughed “Worth it” he replied gently brushing a little strand of hair behind Catherine’s ear. “Lunch together?” “Like you even have to ask” she replied Still smiling, they continued walking side by side to their classroom *IN THE CLASSROOM* Catherine slid into her seat just before the teacher arrived Skylar glanced with a knowing smile. “You almost missed class” “I know” Catherine replied with a smile, placing her book on the desk. “Jonathan again?” Catherine couldn’t help smiling “Maybe” “Maybe?” Skylar laughed,” That smile says everything” "It was just a five-minute conversation” “You call that five minutes?” The whole hallway watched you two.” “They’re just dramatic” “No, you two are Honestly, if I didn’t know better I would think you were starring in a romance movie” Catherine chuckled as she arranged her notebook. “You’re impossible” “And you’re hopelessly in love” **Jonathan** Jonathan walked into the class and dropped into the empty seat beside his friends. “So…..” one of them began” My dad said your dad is buying another company” Jonathan sighed. “Can we not talk we not talk about business this early.” “Fine” His friend grinned. “Let’s talk about Catherine instead” Jonathan rolled his eyes. “I swear if anyone talks about Catherine, you suddenly become a poet” His friends laughed. “But you spend more time with her than us” one of them said. “And?” “And we’re starting to think you’ve forgotten your best friends” Jonathan laughed. “You will survive” “Not if you keep choosing her over us” Jonathan smiled. “I will always make time for people who matter” His friends exchanged playful looks “Guess we just got demoted” one of them said. The chemistry teacher stepped into the classroom putting an end to their conversation As class begins, the teacher announces. “We will be welcoming a new student today” The class door opens. A young lady stepped inside, and for a brief moment, the class paused. She was breathtaking. She stepped into the classroom with a gentle smile that instantly caught everyone’s attention. Her warm light complexion complemented her delicate features, naturally curly hair gathered into a neat ponytail, her neatly pressed uniform fit her perfectly, and she carried herself with the kind of elegance that made people look without even realizing it. Whispers immediately spread across the classroom “She’s gorgeous…….” “Is she really a transfer student ?” “Wowwww……” The teacher smiled “Class meets Sophia, she transferred to our school this morning. I hope you all make her feel welcome” Sophia offered a warm, polite smile before scanning the classroom The teacher pointed towards the empty seat. Catherine instinctively shifted her bag to make room for space “She can sit with us if she wants” she whispered to Skylar. Skylar smiled in agreement Sophia took the empty seat as the classroom settled in silence As the lesson began, Catherine stole a glance at Jonathan and smiled. She believed nothing could ever come between them.
