"Okay, you can stop bluffing now." Jamie gave him a flat look. "Rowan, I am not bluffing. I am pregnant. I am three weeks along." Rowan rolled his eyes. "I know I know. The orthopedic surgeon is embarrassed about the whole confession and now wants to prank me to distract me. But it isn't working." He flashed her his dumbass grin. Jamie didn't know what to do with her man. Just a moment ago, he was repeatedly asking if she was pregnant but now that she had told him that she was, he just refused to believe her. This is exactly why she called her boyfriend a dumbass. "Do I have to take a pregnancy test in front of you for you to believe me?" She asked, hands on her hips. This had the smirk wiped off of Rowan's face. "You are messing with me, right?" Jamie let out a huff. "You are unbelievable, you dumbass!" She turned on her heels, ready to get back to their children. She had wanted him to be the one to know first and that was why she had kept it a secret from everyone else. She should have just told Sebastian first. Like the first time. She was pissed. Rowan grabbed hold of her hand and pulled her back, her back to his chest. He placed his chin on her shoulder and placed a sweet kiss on her cheek, just beneath her ear. "Are you really going to make me a Papa again?" He whispered. She could feel his heart thumping against his chest. "Yes." She whispered. "When did you find out?" He asked. "The same day Sia found out." She breathed out. "You were asking again and again if I was pregnant, and I almost wished I was because you were just too adorable." "I was wishing for a kid, yes, but I was not being adorable about it." Rowan pouted. Jamie laughed. The Capo had no idea how adorable he could be. "Anyway, there were a few extra tests lying about, and my inner voice asked me to just take one and see. And viola, positive." He let out a deep breath. "So, how did you know you were three weeks along?" He asked. "Did you see a doctor? Did you already see the first sonogram without me?" Jamie laughed again. "No, I didn't. I know you want to be there for every single one of the milestones in this pregnancy. I won't let you miss any one of them. I know because I am a doctor myself and I know how to calculate. I would take you to an obstetrician to show you the sonogram, but our kiddo is only the size of a pinhead right now. Do you want to see anyway?" Jamie smiled. "Can we go?" He asked, and he sounded too cute asking that question. "Yes." She chuckled, turning her head to place a kiss on his lips. "Let's go." . . . "Why do you look like you are going to pass out?" Maria rolled her eyes as she sipped on her passion fruit mojito. Adam looked over at her and blinked. And blinked again. And then clutched his head, shaking it. "I don't understand!" "What?" Maria narrowed her eyes at him. "How you became a father or why you became a father?" He looked up, confused. "Because both questions have the same answer." "Please speak English." Adam said. "Please." "What is your problem?" Maria was on her feet. "You don't want this child, is that it? Because if it is, then walk away! See if I care!" Adam gave her a flat look. "Why do you even think that? Why would I not want my own child?" "Oh I don't know. You don't seem like you are very happy about it!" "Sia..." He started but then stopped, sighing. "It's not that. It's just that..." "It's what?" Maria glowered at him. "Just say it." Adam walked over to her, guiding her back to her seat and handing her mojito. "Can you please calm down? You can't get angry all the time anymore. It's not good for the baby." He said. "Well, I wouldn't be if his or her father wasn't being a complete ass." Maria gritted her teeth. Now that Adam mentioned it, she started getting paranoid about the effect her anger would have on her child's health. She needed to grab Jamie and go to the doctor and find out all the dos and don'ts during pregnancy. Maybe she should go today? But wasn't it better to get it done by a doctor in New York because she planned to go back in a week? And Jamie should know the basics right? She was a doctor and also the mother of two children. She should know. "I love Adam." Jamie raised a brow and chuckled. "Um... I am well aware of that considering you are marrying him tomorrow." "But I love you more." Maria said. Jamie blinked. "Well, that's a twist I didn't see coming. Sia, I love you too, but in a sisterly way-" "Shut up!" Maria rolled her eyes while Jamie burst out laughing. "You know what I mean." "Honestly... I don't." Jamie said, back to being serious again. "Why do you love me more than you love Adam? It doesn't make sense." "Not love... Trust. I... trust you more than I trust him." She looked down, fidgeting with the zipper of her jacket. Jamie sighed. You had to live the life that Maria lived to come to a point where loving someone is easier than trusting them. It was what she had done for a long time with her family. She loved them but never trusted them. "Thank you." Jamie said. Maria nodded and then looked into her eyes. "I want to stay with you. I want us to move into your house... officially after our wedding." "Sia, are you okay?" Jamie suddenly felt worry creep into her chest. Maria was acting weird. "I am scared." "I don't want my darkness to keep the sun out of my child's life." . . . ________________________________
