The First Full Moon & Clarity

1017 Words
I guess I've avoided the last one a much as I could. I've gone over my mother, my shifting, my son, and my friend. But there's one person at the center of my story that I haven't explained yet. The only daughter of the King and Queen, Jennifer went by Jen since I can remember. I had only really seen her around, I wasn't allowed to talk to her. I may have been a duchess, but I was human. At least, I thought I was. My mother and I faced harsh words and glares every where we went, but we weren't the only human's invited into the supernatural world. The entire kingdom was gated and guarded well. There were many stories and legends about the kingdom I grew up in, but anyone who tried to figure out if they were true or not never returned. Often times, they were turned. The most unfortunate were killed.  All Mixed-Bloods, someone born from werewolf and human decent, faced some discrimination through out the cities and villages, but within the castle, the only Mixed-Blood's were servants. Besides my mother and I, but my father always stuck by us. He protected us. I was closer to my mother than my father, until she died. But that's beside the point.  Jennifer helped me, the night we buried my mother. I barely knew her, and she probably had no idea who I was. Yet, she was the only person my heart ever felt for. ~ "Why are you helping me?" A month had passed, and the moon was almost full. Tonight would be my first full moon. I was sitting in the same clearing from that night, and like that night, I wasn't alone. Jen leaned up against the trees, watching me. The moon made me feel strong, exhilarated almost. I've been excited all day, running around with strength I'd never imagined before. I turned my attention from the moon to Jen. Her smile vanished at the question, but I waited.  The moon stared at her from above, and she was even more beautiful under the moon light. For the past month, I learned everything I could from Jennifer, and we grew close. But in the back of my mind, the question always remained. When she didn't answer, I stood and continued, "I am practically nothing, and you barely know me, so what are you helping me?" My dress was a deep blue, and hung at my hips, clinging to my body. She wore a different outfit, deep green like a forest. Both of our outfits were made out of satin, and under the moon, glistened like the water of the lake. I watched her face, wishing I could work the link and get into her mind like she could get into mine.  "Keep practicing." She said, tilting her head slightly. Mocking me. I frowned, rolling my eyes. "Do you always have to do that?" I growled, clearly frustrated. She smile, laughing softly.  "If your practiced enough," She said, "Then maybe I wouldn't be doing it so often." I huffed, crossing my arms. "You can't avoid the question forever, you know." I sighed, glancing at the moon above us. Realizing what time it was, I slowly started to strip out of my dress. I felt the atmosphere shift to uncomfortable, and heard her move. and I turned to look at her. In nothing but my underwear and the corset, I looked at her, slightly curious. I hated to admit to myself, how much I wanted her to look at me, to want me like I felt myself wanting her.  Normally, she did nothing. She kept her head turned away, but when I looked at her she was staring at me. Before I could control it, my breath caught. Her eyes were glowing, the bright red color of an Alpha. I could see the flecks of green and gold in them, I felt the heat radiating from her body. I could see that heat in her eyes, it drove me wild. But I stayed where I was.  I continued what I was doing, stripping down. Slowly, I unlaced my corset, turning my head down. Searching through my thoughts, I closed my eyes and let the rest of my clothes glide off of my body. Fully unclothed, I felt my body let go to the Moon and the night. I turned away, walking into the lake, letting the water cool me off. Trying to calm down from the adrenaline rush of the moon, I didn't even notice when Jen walked up behind me. She'd taken off her pants, but when I turned around, there she was. I gasped when she gripped my hips and pulled me into her. Only, when I saw her eyes, I realized this wasn't her. "Jade." I breathed. A smirk played her lip and I felt her nails dig slightly into my skin. Her body, bare and flush, pressed right up against me and I blushed, hard. Slowly she turned me around and I looked up at the sky and the moon. I shivered, feeling her lips hover over neck. I submitted, feeling my wolf rise farther to the surface. I felt my skin shiver and my blood boil slightly as my eyes begun to glow. Bright blue, the color of a Beta, like my father.  Her body temp flew through the roof and the pain buzzed in the back of my mind. She growled in my ear, and then, I felt it. At first, it was a click. After that, it was a rush of warmth and I gasped loudly, my eyes widening at the new feeling. It was like an ocean, pulling me in. It was warm, I wanted it.  'I'll take care of our body.' The voice said in my head.  All the while, "And what might your name be?" As it all began to end, and I started to give into the ocean that surrounded me, I heard my voice respond. It was nothing like my voice, it was feral. It was wild. "Clarity. My name is Clarity."
