Her Grumpy Neighbor

The new neighbor

Hailey yawned getting out of bed, it's past 7 already and she will be having her first class by 8am.

Seems she will have to wake Tiana up so she could start cooking while she tidy up and get herself ready for class

She entered her room to see her deeply asleep, she had always be the one to wake up first in the house

Most of the times, she's the one who always wake her up especially when she is having early morning classes

"Tiana, wake up." she tapped her gently on her back, sitting at the edge of the bed.

"Hmm, what is it?" She groaned, her eyes still closed

"I'm having class by 8am today, I can't leave on empty stomach you know, and, besides it's not too early for you to wake up. "Hailey

replied in a low tone

Tiana rubbed her eyebrow. "Okay I'm getting up "

"Make it fast"Hailey muttered, leaving her room to do her chores

She does the cleaning, while Tiana does the cooking

Tiana stretched herself after sitting up on her bed, she stood up, slipping into her soft slippers which lies at the corner of her room

She switched off the fan, walked sluggishly to the bathroom to wash her face, after she was done, she filled her brush with paste and started to brush her teeth.

Moments later, she was done, she proceeded to the kitchen right away, today she's going to make jollof rice which is also Hailey's favorite

She brings out the pot and all the ingredients she will be needing, they needed to get more foodstuffs because they will be running out of it very soon

After washing the pepper with clean water, she took out the blender and inserted it's wire into the socket that was pasted at the left side of the kitchen wall, thank goodness there's electricity

After a while, she had finished grilling the pepper, she turned on the gas instantly, placed the pot on it and started to place the ingredients in it one after the other following the necessary steps

Moments later, the rice is on fire and will be ready anytime soon, she decided to stay in the kitchen to monitor it closely, if the water get dried, she will put in more if need be, that's if it is not ready yet

She was browsing on her phone and monitoring the food at the same time, she moved a little far away from the gas while pressing her phone since it's dangerous to put a phone near gas

Few minutes later, the jollof rice was all ready

She took out the remaining two plantains to fry after she put down the rice from the gas

"Oh my gee! You're the best"Hailey smiled staring at the breakfast of jollof rice and plantain in front of her

She made her favorite food

"Are you not eating."Hailey questioned noticing she didn't dished out her own food

"I'm not hungry yet and remember I'm home all through today so I can eat anytime" Tiana replied Hailey who nodded and started to eat her food

Tiana noticed she was staring at her phone from time to time as she eat, could she be waiting for a text message from Kelly

Seems she's not happy because of the fight they had, well it's not her place to bring it up, they will solve it among themselves

Tiana left her in the dinning to the sitting room, put on the T. V, changing the Chanel to see what she could watch

She settle for music videos eventually, after a while, Hailey was done and ready to go

"I will be leaving first, thanks for the meal, I enjoyed it so much "Hailey winked opening the door and was soon out of sight

Tiana smiled watching her, Hailey is a type of person who's always cheerful even if she's not happy underneath.

After two hours, Tiana got bored of watching T. V, she need to go take her bath, she traced her steps back to her room, taking off her clothes, she dropped it in the laundry basket and ties a towel around her chest

She then goes into the bathroom to have a long warm bath, after she was done, she creamed her body after drying herself, afterwards arranged her braid hair, she checked the mirror to see it's still very neat, she had plaited the hair just a week ago so it should still be neat

She settled for a short gown that stop right below her knee, she goes back to the living room to see the T. V still on, yes she didn't off it earlier

She's starting to feel hungry now, she entered the kitchen, dished her rice and carried it to the dining, there's still more rice inside the pot since she had cooked a lot more

She settled down in the dining and started eating, she had barely taken in two spoons of her food when she heard sounds of a car driving inside their compound

She left the food, opened the door and goes out to see the car parking in front of the other apartment, she walked closer waiting for the person to get down from the car

Who is that anyway?

She watched as the driver finished parking the car, opened the door and finally stepped out of the car, with a cat in his embrace, he dropped the cat which started to move around him happily, he glimpsed at Tiana who had stood there watching him like he was an image

Tiana gasped after making eyes contact with the young unknown man

This man was tall, his muscles were tight and firm and his thin waist were full of abs...

Hiis legs were straight and slender, he was wearing a black cardigan with no button on which made his chest slightly visible, with a blue long trouser, his coiling black hair contributed to his handsomeness

His skin was fair and smooth , he had long lashes, a pointed nose, and a small pink lips that fitted him perfectly , he was extremely eye catching.

Tiana had always been indifferent when she sees handsome guys like this, she will gazed at them but they would not make her have the slightest temptation

Nonetheless, when she saw this young man, her heart was shaken a bit and she had an inexplicable feeling in her heart

She stood there watching him not taking her eyes off, the man is now at the back of his car...

He brought out two big box from his booth, carrying each at one hand after closing the booth, he walked up to Tiana and stopped right infront of her

He frowned " You're standing in my way"

Just who's this lady standing like a statue and watching him?....

"Oh sorry but whoo.... Who are you looking for you looking for?." She stuttered feeling a bit nervous in front of him

"Who am I looking for? "He repeated looking confused

"You can't see I'm moving in" he added which made Tiana really surprised

She was bewildered. "You're, You're the new neighbor moving in"

"Yeah I'm moving in, can you get out of my way now " his tone was ice-cold

"Oh sorry" she moved away and watched as he brushed past her, took out the keys from his pocket and entered the house with his cat trailing behind him, afterwards closed the door

She just can't stand there right, she walked back to her apartment, clunging herself on a couch in the sitting room

Her food lies there on the dining table as she had left it, she moved to the dining to continue her food, the image of the man kept appearing in her mind

'Get yourself together, Tiana 'she smacked her head and then continue to eat her food

Jamal walks around his new house, slightly satisfied with all the arrangements

That guy sure knows his taste, he is not bad

The cat was also moving around going from a corner to a corner, seems it's also aware they're in a new environment

He doesn't even have a name for this cute little cat

He removed his ringing phone from his pocket, he chuckled seeing the caller

Did this Nigga put a tracker on him , he called not long he arrived

Perfect timing...

"Hey, so what do you think?! Do you like the house, does it suit your taste " the caller asked question after question after he answered the call

Which one does he want him to answer?

"Yeah i liked it, you're quite useful after all" Jamal finally said after a moment of silence

" Oh goodness! Do you mean I've been useless all these while, Jamal, you are very bad with words, Just that I've been used to it since we've been friends for long"Matthew chuckled on the phone

'Then continue to be used to it '

"Anyway, how are you gonna repay me. " he added since he didn't hear Jamal's voice anymore

He's quiet again

"Okay, drinks on me tonight at the club" Jamal said after giving it a thought

He deserved something after all, though he's the one who sent all the money he used in renting and setting the house for him, but he also goes through the trouble for him

"Hmm not bad, see you later then, goodbye " he hunged up the phone

After arranging his clothes well inside the wardrobe, he remembered the foodstuffs he brought along was still in the car outside, he should go take it immediately and arranged everything in it's rightful place

He had always been obsessed with cleaniless from his childhood

Hailey stood in front of her boyfriend, Kelly's house, a little afraid to go in, she didn't even know if he's in or not

She had come right away after she finished her classes

She get herself together, opened the door and stepped inside

The door was not locked, he's really inside

She saw him right at the living room, browsing on his phone

He had also raised up his head to see her when he heard the sound of the door opening

"Hey" Hailey said a little bit nervous after he stood up from his seat

He just stares at her not returning her greeting

She walked up to him and hugged him " Babe, I'm sorry for reacting that way"

His two hands were still hanging besides his body not holding her waist

He's obviously not reciprocating her hug

She locked out from the hug and heaved a sigh " I said I'm sorry, fine I overreacted , and I've realised my mistakes, forgive me okay"

He was quiet for a moment

"Are you still angry " she's getting a bit irritated now, she let down her pride to beg him but why is he playing hard to get?.. .

"It's okay, I've forgiven you "a sentence finally came out of his lips

"Really "her eyes not leaving his face

"I said I've forgiven you, I mean it, but I won't like it if you do something like that again " he pulled her close to himself, embracing her softly

"I won't do it again but I hope you don't hide anything from me too. "She smiled still in his embrace

"Tiana "Hailey called going into her bedroom

"Hey you're back "Tiana said sitting up on the bed after Hailey joined her

"This is 6pm in the evening, don't tell me you just finished your classes"

"Of course not, I've been with Kelly, and he will soon come pick us up, we're going to club tonight and this time, you're following us"she winked

Oh ! they finally made up

Tiana pouted her lips staring at her confusingly "What club?, why would i be following you "

"I've just decided to take you, you've been at home since morning, don't you feel bored, it's not good to locked yourself up too much, you should go chill once in a while, you're not exposed at all"

maybe she's right, she should go out once in a while

"Okay I will follow you, but we're not staying out late, latest 9pm we should be on our way back home, is that okay by you "she said softly

"Of course! we will."Hailey was satisfied since she agreed to go

"Hmm, Hailey, someone had finally moved in today"Tiana said as the image of the guy appeared on her mind again

"Oh really, they get some little cute children."Hailey asked thinking it was a couple who had moved in

Yeah, the house is a two bedroom apartment with an additional living room

She couldn't have thought it's one single guy who moved in

Hailey had actually see the car parked at the other side but she didn't pay much attention to it

"What children? It's a single young guy who moved in " Tiana explained

"Really, just one single guy"she repeated and Tiana nodded

"Not bad, let's go welcome him then "Hailey suggested while she rolled her eyes

Is she being serious right now

"He's the one who should come to us, you know, introduces himself and those stuffs, why should we be the one to go? "She disagreed

"It doesn't matter, he just moved in so it's no big deal to welcome him, should I go alone "Hailey was already on her feet

She really mean it

Hailey is after all a social person who makes friend easily but she's different, she do not know how to relates with people that well, it's not a big deal to Hailey after all

Besides, she's a little bit shy, how are they going to welcome him?..

But actually, she wanted to see that young man again

"Hey, you're wasting my time, are you not getting up " Hailey words broke her line of thought instantly

She shook her head. "i'm not going"

"You are."

Before she know it, Hailey dragged her forcefully

Now they are in front of his apartment

Hailey knocked on the door, and Tiana finds herself sweating

Oh God! They are really here

Jamal had just rounded up his cooking, and is ready to eat when he heard someone knocking on the door

He do not have any business with anybody right

Who could it be?

Could it be Matthew

But why would he come now?

They agreed to meet in the club tonight

He got up slowly, twisted the door, which opened instantly revealing the two ladies in front of the door

The one at the back is familiar

She's the one staring at him earlier in the morning before

Anyway, that's the least of his concerns

What do they want now?
