~Jess~
When we step through the portal we are met with a lady who looks to be about my age but her eyes hold a light like I've never seen before. She is a petite woman with hair as white as snow and skin like alabaster. She had eyes that were blue like sapphires with pedal pink lips and her pointed ears poked out from her long hair. She wore a emerald green dress with gold accents throughout the dress that also laced up the back and long flowing sleeves. She had a gold crown placed upon her head that was thin and little diamonds that gleamed in the sun. Her hands were crossed over each other in a very diplomatic way and it dawned on me that this must be an elven princess. Ibowed my head and knelt on one knee out of respect and the rest of my band of misfits followed.
"Oh silly girl please stand there's no need for formalities here. After all one day you will save us all which puts us all in your debt." Says the young lady Eloise. I stand but do not raise my eyes. She looks at us as a hero when in reality the only thing we have ever done was selfish just trying to save ourselves. My group of people stand behind me and Eloise grabs my face in her hands lifting my eyes to her piercing blue ones. "I know what you're thinking dear and you're wrong. You did what you had to so you could be where the moon Goddess wanted you."
I have never cried since the day I killed my parents but the words she spoke struck a cord and I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I bowed quickly "Thank you ma'am" I felt my cheeks heat up realizing that all eyes were on me in sure wondering what she was talking about since I've never talked about any of this in front of them. The only one who knows a fraction of what we're talking about is my mate and that's only because I've woke up screaming from the ghosts of my past.
The old lady who led me here clears her throat thankfully bringing the attention into herself. "I hate to interrupt my lady but the king will be expecting us soon." She says with her head down.
"Thank you Gertrude we shall take leave now." Said Eloise.
As we are walking i can tell the people we have gathered are now feeling the energy here is different also. It is light and peaceful. You can here the three children playing in the back of the group and Azazel comes beside me grabbing my hand which I gladly take.
When we reach the gates I realize that it's not just a Castel but a whole town built into a mountain and the view was breath taking. The walls were made of some kind of white stone and the roof tops were copper looking but what really caught my eye was the houses were made into the trees. The people were friendly and acted as if they had never had a bad day in their lives. When we reached the top of the mountain where the actual Castel was it had marble steps and alabaster pillars with the same copper color roofing and a water fountain of a dragon wrapped around a sword. There in front of the copper toned doors stood a man with a cloak cut from the same emerald color green material with out all the gold accents. He had short red hair with a thick red beard. He was tall and almost as thick as he was tall. He had eyes that were brown but how the light was shining almost gave them a red Hugh. He also had a gold crown placed upon his head but this one was much thicker. The air around this man was light but the was a power about him that could become very dangerous.
"Welcome to our home I am King Sameal third son of King Alistar fire dragon of the east. And I trust you didn't have a lot of trouble getting here. We are first going to get everyone settled in for tonight and we'll start fresh tomorrow. My men will help accommodate your group but Azazel and Jess I must insist you all staying with us as my guests of honor seeing as how we have much to discuss."
I look to Azazel who nods his head yes. "Thank you your excellency for your hospitality we gladly except."
Azazel and myself were shown to a room with a cobblestone floor and the walls were incased in deep earthy colors which made my wolves sigh in content. I turned to look at Azazel who was staring at us with a silly smile on his face.
"What?..." I asked sure to his stare making me uncomfortable.
"Don't make him feel bad!" Cora pipes up. "He's just admiring us"
"You're beautiful" says Azazel out of no where. I scoff at him.
"We are hanging onto our lives by a thread and this is the only thing you can come up with!?!" I seen in his eyes that I may have been a little harsh but I need him focusing at all times.
"Look I'm sorry I didn't mean to be so rude... I'm just scared" He looks up at me with shock written all over his face. Why did I just say that? That's not me I don't get up in my feelings. I shake it off and head to the bed where I can lay down my two pairs of pants and three shirts. It's best to pack light incase we have to run. Everyone of us packed like this. I felt his hand on my shoulder which wasn't much but was enough to calm us down. I spun around and embraced Azazel a the tears started to pour from my eyes. What is it about this place that makes me want to break down? Cora is whimpering while Cozbi is full on howling in pain. I try to push Azazel away but instead of letting go he holds on tighter stroking my hair.
"Shhhh love it's going to be ok" He says over and over while I start to banging my fists against his chest.
"Why can't you just let me go!?!" I sob into his chest "I'm just going to hurt you."
He says nothing but it'll be ok letting me cry into him. I feel pathetic breaking down like this. It almost feels as if all the years bottled up inside of me are coming out at once. The last thing I remember before falling asleep is laying balled up in his lap while he stroked my hair as the tears continued down my face.
