CHAPTER THIRTY Friday arrived faster than I had anticipated and as I finished cleaning up the last of the dishes, I could only keep looking at my phone anxiously. I had texted Luca three hours ago to see if he’d agree to come to the party with me but there had been no reply from him. Despite working in the same place, we barely came across each other and it was safe to say he assumed my presence here. My rather jerk of co-workers had left about ten minutes ago, leaving me here. Apparently, Luca covering for me on Wednesday had hit a nerve and now their bitter stares had worsened.
