CHAPTER 26 Three days pass in relative calm. Becks suns on the sand with Hawaiian Shirt. Lary sits in the shade, her wounds healed enough not to need any more bandaging. Healing her emotional wounds is not quite so easy. Afternoons she spends in the tiny Banditos bar, hidden away from the beach and tourist hoopla. It is owned by her fine, seventy-five-year-old buddy, Dave Daisy, a retired Sergeant Major of the U. S. Army, straight-backed, no nonsense, and takes no prisoners. She and Becks have known Dave for over twenty years; from the time he had rescued them from two drunken tourists who were trying to maul them in the street.
