THE RUNAWAY

Sophie had always known that her parents were special. They had worked for the CIA and the Secret Service, doing all sorts of top-secret missions to protect their country. But when Sophie was just three years old, her parents were killed in action, leaving her alone in the world. Sophie's parents had made arrangements for her to be taken to an orphanage, where she would be cared for until she was old enough to make her own way in the world. But before they left, they did something that would change Sophie's life forever. They deactivated the chip that had been implanted in her head, the one that would allow the CIA to track her if she were ever kidn*pped. They scolded her for going through private files and warned her not to do it again. But Sophie couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to her parents' story than she had been told. She also started to learn self-defense and survival skills, determined to be ready for anything that might come her way. Finally, when she turned eighteen, Sophie decided to leave the orphanage and strike out on her own. She had saved up enough money from working odd jobs to buy a small apartment and started to build a new life for herself. But the more she learned, the more questions she had.
