"Brenda, stop right there!"
Brenda could hear Harvey's enraged voice coming from behind her.
Brenda didn't heed him. Instead she ran faster. She kicked off her high heels and sped at full tilt along the hallway in her stocking feet.
She rushed to the open elevator door, hurried in, and pressed the button for the first floor.
When Harvey reached the elevator door it closed right in his face, stopping him in his tracks.
Lily had caught up with him. She reached out and encircled his waist from behind, her voice was soft and gentle. "Harvey, don't be upset! I've warned you before, she's not worth your regret. She's malicious and vicious to the core. You've been kind to her, but she's treacherous and has turned against you. She doesn't even care about her relatives. Look at what she's done today. She only wants to slander us."
Harvey frowned slightly. "I underestimated her."
Lily didn't want Harvey to see her dark side, so she tenderly took his arm. "Harvey,we're going to be together anyway. Now that Brenda has announced it, let's get it out in the open and be a legitimate couple! As for the shares in her hands, I will inherit them likewise when she dies..."
"Alright. I'll go entertain the guests first."
"Okay, I need to go to the bathroom. I'll be back in a minute!"
Lily waited for Harvey to be out of her sight and then she took out her mobile phone and made a call. Her face instantly turned fierce.
"Listen, I'm increasing my original offer by ten times. Get a few more men to play her until she doubts her life. Push her around, drive her to the point of suicide. It'll be best that she jumps off a building ... I've already drugged her. The drug should be kicking in soon, so she won't get far."
In the elevator, Brenda leaned against the wall. The feeling of dizziness had become more intense.
" When I went home earlier, I was so mad that I forgot to take the medicine. That's a pretty strong cold! " realized Brenda.
A mysterious evil fire was spreading all over her delicate body. She felt unbearably hot. Even the air she was breathing in felt scorching hot.
Trapped in a daze, she wasn't aware that the elevator was now going up.
The elevator took her all the way to the 29th floor of the hotel.
When she saw the elevator door open, she rushed out recklessly.
She found herself in the most luxurious presidential suite in the entire hotel. This suite was the exclusive territory of the super rich.
A lavish red carpet had been laid all the way to the end of the corridor, and the masterfully-crafted European-style doors were like those from a castle.
The door was half-closed and opened with a slight push. She went in and headed straight to the bathroom.
She impatiently got rid of her wedding dress, then lifted the faucet, turned on the shower, and ran it over her body.
But even that did not abate the fire burning inside of her.
There seemed to be countless tiny feathers tickling her all over her body, making her unbearably itchy and setting her ablaze.
After a long time, Brenda vaguely remembered that Lily had very considerately given her a cup of milk tea before she disappeared.
This uncomfortable feeling had started then... It was not a cold at all... it was actually that vicious woman who had drugged her!
She had been under the shower for more than ten minutes. The burning sensation was intensifying instead of weakening, and it was getting more and more uncomfortable. She haphazardly pulled a bath towel around herself and stumbled towards the bedroom.
Under the dim light of the wall lamp, a man was lying on the big bed in the bedroom...
Instinct told her that he was everything that she desired. She couldn't restrain herself and climbed onto the bed. She reached out to pull off the silk quilt that was covering him.
The little bit of sanity that she had retained had long been washed away by the drug. All she knew was that he could make her feel less miserable.
Her slight touch unpredictably elicited an even stronger response from the man.
It was like dry wood encountering a raging fire.
