CHAPTER 2: THE BILLIONAIRE ENEMY CEO

Eliora's POV

As each company arrive with their representatives, I couldn't help but notice him.

I hadn't seen him before but I could tell he was well to do.

The aura he carried with him was unique. I could tell he was special, even a newborn baby could.

He was introduced to me as Darwin, the Mr Darwin Maali. I looked at him again, but this time I could swear I had met him before.

We were sworn enemies by work or at least we were supposed to be, but his dreamy eyes was getting to my head. I think I'm falling for him.

"Oh no, I need to stop this. I could loose my job"

I tried to get my mind off him as I looked around the room searching for a distraction.

At the meantime I noticed a file I was holding that wasn't meant to be there. “Maybe it was put there by my boss”, I muttered but as I leaned closer to take a look at it, I noticed that there were two contracts, one read agreement contract but the other read liquidation contract.

" Liquidation contract?"

I tried to make sense out of it.

I ignored it at first until I saw a footnote at the other end that read operation wealth transferr. I can't believe this.

How could my manager offer a fake contract just to steal wealth. It appears he hire some lawyer called Barrister Richard who worked out the contract.

I have to do something, there's no way I'm letting mr. Darwin sign that.

" Whatever the case, no body deserves to loose their hard earned money"

I struggled to think of what to do, how to summon up courage when mr Darwin arrives.

Mr Darwin arrives with a young man he introduces as Mr. Edward Park. The young man claims to be his assistant and settles down with their own company’s files. Our eyes lock, he slowly pulls his gaze away and arranged the files.

The meeting commences with my boss raising an issue of a suspected conspiracy going on between our firms by a third party. He offers a solution of taking measures to be very carerful.

He offers a contract of “agreement” between the two firms.

There was silence. The workers in our firm seemed to have figured out the plan and were informed with our me because all of them acted all odd.

I had only known them for one day but this was not how they acted I was sure.

They had surely planned this without me.

They wouldn't want to trust a newbie with a project so serious after all.

On the other side of the room, Edward gave a suspicious look to his boss and I could tell that he wasn't in support of this contract either or he suspected something was wrong.

Mr Darwin forced a huge smile and requested to have the contract. The atmosphere went tense. “what is he planning”, I said to myself. He headed for the paper with his pen ready to sign the “peace treaty”.

I know I'm supposed to hate him, I know his company was the cause of a loss of a huge business opportunity, but this isn't the right way. Stealing someone's years of hardwork wasn't the way .

My heart began to race. I knew i was going to lose my job but I couldn't do it. “Stop!!”,I shouted at the top of my voice.

All eyes were on me. I had noticed the way he gazed at me like I was his one true love before but man I couldn't ignore it now. His gaze was seductive.

I tried to remind my self that I'm a married woman but that was just a lost cause. I knew I was falling for him, hard, but I couldn't do help but think that he was falling for me too.

The way he lookes at me, I was certain there was something more.

“You were saying something”, his deep voiced echoed round the room.

“I said not to sign that contract, or else you loose all your money.”, I replied.

There was gasps in the room. All eyes turned to my boss, including mine.

“What so you mean by that Eliora, my boss snarled just in time to make me stutter.

“I mean that you made up this contract to steal away all of Mr Darwins money!”

He stared at me like he'd just seen a ghost.

“I knew someone was wrong with the sudden change in perspective, I'm out of here”, Edward said.

Mr Darwin lookd at me with a faint smile, then left. I knew he was going to take legal action against the firm, provided that he took the fake contract with him, but my conscience is satisfied, I have done the right thing.

I found my way out of the company before my boss pounces on me. I had nowhere to go. I couldn't risk it , I knew i was already fired. I didn't want to go home to Gavin. Although I still loved him, I refused to lower my standards for him. It is his loss for cheating on me.

I could go to Mandy’s but I wouldn't want to interrupt her and Daniel's privacy.

I summoned courage and made my way into the rival company. Because of my good act, I was accepted immediately and gained access to Mr Darwin’s waiting room.

Edward walked across where I was and paused for a second. “What are you here for?” he asked.

“I am here for your boss “, I replied while flipping my hair.

“Are you one of those worthless w****s who come here in hope to get a taste of my boss?”

“What! That's a not so nice thing to say to someone who just saved your company from going bankrupt.”, I replied.

“Anyone could have chosen to do the right thing.”, he said. I hated him instantly.

Ugghhh, who says such a

thing!

He exits as Mr Darwin enters the room.

His gaze is fixed on me.
