Seven As everything on a deadline, time flew by. While the staff put their best foot forward, one by one, they clocked out after working relentlessly for hours. Not a surprise, there was only so much to be expected from them. Around eleven at night, Lana and I were the only two left in the Unforked Tail. It was already long dark outside and the black windows gave the dining room a cosy, intimate feel. The large wooden support beams, the old bottles with fake tealights, the sturdy but elegant tables. The more time I spent here, the more I was falling in love with the place. I really, really hoped it passed the inspection because I didn’t want to leave the restaurant. A clatter and familiar cursing came from the kitchen and I made my way in, not surprised to find Lana scrubbing the steel
