Chapter 6 When I returned to the apartment around midday, I could barely contain my excitement. Of course, my cab driver would have been the first recipient of my good news, had he actually spoken more than a word or two of broken English. But because he didn’t, I raced into the building and felt just about ready to explode. In my energetic state, I sprinted up the four flights of stairs in lieu of using the elevator, all the while awestruck at the miracle of what a difference a single day made.
