“Niki…” Reed’s entire body trembled with rage. “Apologize to Mars.”

“Planet Boy is the one who should apologize to me and—”
“I said apologize. Now, goddamn it!”
She lifted her chin in childish defiance. “No way in f*****g hell. That goddamned faggot doesn’t deserve it.”
He nodded once, twice, then a third time, as if mentally counting to keep himself under control. Then, without warning, he hastened into his bedroom and returned to the living room a moment later, with Niki’s jangling purse and high-heeled sandals in his hands.
