“So when you are feeling up for it Marie, your mother and you are going to go and look at dresses,” Daniel stated as he locked eyes with my mother. I looked at her and gave her a meek smile. I didn't know how I felt about going with her. But I guess for now this is what needs to be done.
“Alright and then you and the guys can do some golfing!” I said and the guys all looked at each other.
“Not quite.. That we are going to go and do this weekend! But today the 4 of us need to go and pick out suits.” Daniel added.
“Are the suits going to be white?” I asked.
I looked at both of the boys. Dalton isn't really looking me in my eyes.. I think that there is something weighing heavily on his mind.. But Delcan is giving me his “you will just have to wait and see..” kind of look. I shake my head and laugh..
“Well let me put it this way.. I don't want your suits to be white..” I told them.
The guys started to laugh at my statement. Then we all joined in and laughed together. It was so nice to hear everyone seemingly getting along..Even though Dalton’s laughter and smile wasn't his normal. Delcan also looked over at him and I could tell in his eyes he was noticing something was up. The pain in my stomach started to come back. But this time I didn't want the whole room to know that I was in pain. So as the pain ripped through me I kept my focus on everyone around me and what we were talking about. This seemed to help slightly. Thank the Goddess for that. But this time the pain lasted longer than it did the first time. I keep all of this to myself. This pain could be caused by so many other things. I guess that I will just have to wait and see tomorrow at my appointment with Dr Lindsey Riker.
After about an hour or so of just hanging around I felt good enough to get the dress shopping done. I kissed the twins goodbye and headed out. I hopped in the car with my mother and we made our way to the dress shop. It is funny because this is the same dress shop that I was at when the girls from school gave me a makeover. The ride to the shop was rather quiet considering there was so much said at the pack house. Honestly, I just want to get the dress and head back.
My head was starting to hurt. I didn't want to make a big deal about it because I am worried my mother might link my father and then him and the twins would show up. I didn't want to be the reason they didn't get their suits today.. From what my mother said, this Luna ceremony is a big deal.. We make it to the shop and my mother has a little pep in her step.
“Excited much?” I asked her.
“Well it is not everyday that a mother gets to pick out a luna ceremony dress with her daughter..”
“I guess you're right..”
She held the door for me. When we got in we were greeted by 2 associates. And much to my surprise. I knew who both of them were..
“Welcome ladies. What can I help you both with today?”
“We are here looking for a dress.” my mother said to them.
“What kind of dress?”
Shit.. they are the twins' ex girlfriends Amanda and Natalie… The last time they saw me they asked me if I knew who the twins’ mate was… I shook my head no and then hid…
“We are looking for a white Luna ceremony dress.” my mother informed them.
“For you?” Amanda asked my mother.
“No for my daughter Marie…”
I came out from behind my mother not wanting to meet their eyes.
“Marie?” Natalie questioned.
“You are from the twins’ pack right?” Amanda asked.
“Yep that is me..” I answered.
“Congratulations on finding your mate! What pack is he from?” Natalie asked.
“What?”
“You found your mate right? He's an Alpha obviously if you are looking for a Luna dress..” Amanda said.
I started to get upset. I hated that they were still talking to me like I was nothing to MY pack..
“No… Actually I am the Luna of that pack now..” I said with confidence.
“What do you mean?” Natalie said with a disgusted look on her face.
“Oh you don't know?!”
“Know what?” Amanda said.
“I am the twins’ mate…”
Both of their jaws hit the floor. I couldn't help but laugh..
“Girls you should not let your mouths hang open like that, it is not becoming of you..”
I don't know what happened to Amanda and Natalie after that.. But from what it looks like they must have quit.. Because an older woman with the name tag that stated Susan approached us.
“Sorry about those two. They are still new here.. So I heard you are looking for a dress for your ceremony. Is that right Luna?”
“Yes, ma'am, that is exactly right.” I said
“And that will mean that you need a dress being the mother of the Luna?” She asked
“Correct.” my mother said
“Alright then. Follow me this way and we can start picking out some dresses to try on..”
My mother and I followed Susan around the floor. My mother wanted something simple and fancy. She didn't want to stand out too much. She kept telling me how she wanted me to be the star of the show. But up until finding out the twins’ were my mates I was never the star of anything.. And now I am always the center of attention..
Once my mother had picked her dress, all the attention was on me. It was my turn to try on dresses. I only had 2 dresses in my hands. I never wore any kind of ball gown before. This is my first time. Susan brought me a pair of heels so that way I don't step on the dress. Without them both dresses were a bit too long.
“Thank you Susan”
“It is my pleasure Luna. Let me know if either of you need anything else.”
“Will do.”
While I was in the changing room I left a sensation in my stomach. It was not like the pain that I was having at the pack house. This was different… I let out a small yelp as I smacked my hand to my mouth trying to cover my noise.
“Honey everything is okay in there..” My mother asked.
I needed to cover it up…
“Yes mom, I almost tripped, sorry.”
“Just be careful! You don't want to rip anything..”
“I will be careful, I promise.”
The dress and shoes were on. I stepped out of the dressing room to show my mother and get her opinion….
Please don't let her say that.. She loves the dress.. She thinks it is pretty or that she wants me to get it.. Thankfully she had the same opinion of this dress that I had. This was a little old for me.. And it was not flattering at all.
But with this other dress on I knew I looked amazing. I just needed my mother to confirm it. I walked out in the dress to my mother and instantly a huge smile played on her face. This dress was the most beautifulest thing that I have ever seen. It made me think of the possibility of the twins and I getting married. It isn't something that I think about often. But with this dress on it is the first thing that popped into my head.
“What do you think?” I asked her.
“Honestly I think that this is the one. This is the dress..”
“I couldn't agree with you more. I think the guys are going to die over this dress.”
After it was confirmed that I wanted this dress. I took it back off and put it back on the hanger. My mother and I brought it to the counter and Susan rang us up.
“I am so happy that you found the dress for your Luna ceremony. It was an honor to work with you both.”
“Thank you, and it was an honor to work with you as well.”
Susan smiled at us. She took my dress and put it in a white clothed bag. My mother's dress got the same attention. She handed us our receipt, and we were off heading back to the pack house. On the way back, we rounded the corner and something or someone jumped out in front of us. It caused my mother to swerve, creating such a screeching noise from the tires. She slammed on the breaks taking us inches from going off the side of the mountain.
