"Adrian wait....." "So you can continue your show? No thanks, I've seen enough already" he shouted back at her. " No please listen to me...." Arella tried to plead again when she was interrupted by Sabrina. " What's going on here? She asked feigning ignorance. Adrian glanced coldly at Arella before turning to Sabrina and saying "Get ready, we're getting married in two weeks" "Adrian, no.." but he left without uttering another word. Arella, unable to hold herself up again slumped to the floor when Sabrina's laughter shook her from her reverie. Why was she laughing? " I guess you're wondering why I'm laughing, well I planned this whole show, all those little fights you've been having all the time losing a little more trust in each other, this" she pointed to the messy bed "It was all me. You see, I always get what I want and I've wanted Adrian for a long time and I wasn't going to let you stand in my way. Sadly, you can't do anything to me because we're getting married" she laughed again. All the while Arella thought she was in a dream. She had never liked Sabrina but had to put up with her because she was Adrian's supposed friend and classmate. She saw all the signs but Adrian never listened. Indeed, she was right there's nothing she could do now because they were getting married. But that wouldn't stop her from getting her revenge on both of them. Sabrina finally left and slowly Arella woke up from the floor. She looked at the scene of her supposed crime and sighed. The man Sabrina arranged ran out the moment he took in who Adrian was. Who wouldn't? Adrian was the number one man in the city, the talk of the town everywhere and with long lines of women waiting for him to look at them. His company Star Trust had started from the dust but was now shining. He introduced and sponsored stars, musicians, models and actors and actresses. He also had side businesses in designing and jewelry. Before this incident, she always felt lucky to be his treasured woman, now, she felt disgusted. A man who could discard someone he was supposed to trust so easily without even listening was not worth her time. Silently and very resolutely, she cleaned herself and dressed to go home. She was no small fry either, with or without him she could make it on her two feet. ******************* Arella went home and the first person she saw was her mom, the urge to breakdown was strong but she tried to hold it in " Oh my darling, you can let it out" Madam Davis said to her daughter with a hug. Of course she knew what happened, it was all over the news and Adrian didn't even try to stop it, silently attesting to its truth. Sarah knew her daughter and even if the whole world stood against her she would always stand with her. " He didn't even listen to me mom, he....he just believed everything he saw then like it wasn't enough told her to prepare to get married... right... in my...face" she said amidst sobs. " Hush now my darling, you'll be alright" Sarah held her most precious treasure close. She had witnessed the highest heights of their relationship but right now she didn't know what to say but to comfort her daughter. Arella finally went to her room and stayed there all day which was quite unlike her. In the evening, she came down for dinner, because her dad never accepted absence from the dinner table. He said it was family reunion time, fights and jokes were always settled at the dinner table. Everyone was surprised, especially her older brother. They all knew how much she loved him even though she seemed to be aloof and cold most of the time that was just her protective exterior and now she was broken. " Good evening dad, good evening mom, hi Dylan. I trust the day was good" Everyone at table was shocked but they answered her none the less.They started eating " I didn't expect you at table today princess, are you okay?" Mr Davis asked. The concern in his voice was clear as day. " I'm okay Dad, I won't miss dinnertime for the world, you are all I have in this world, time with you is good for my soul. Thank you all for standing by me" " Tell me sister, do you want anything, anything at all, I will get it just for you" Dylan spoke up. " Mom, Dad, Dylan I want to leave the country. I know it sounds like I'm running away and yes I am but only for my peace. I'm...I'm.... 2 weeks pregnant" she dropped the bomb and held her breath. The first one to recover was her dad. He was furious " what do you mean pregnant, when did this happen and does he know about it?" Arella lowered her head in fright and sorrow" Dad please, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen. I was to tell all of you after he proposed but here we are now and no he doesn't know and I don't intend for him to know either. Please Dad let me do this" she pleaded, almost in tears. Sarah's heart broke as she watched her daughter. Her emotionally strong baby girl was nowhere to be found at the moment. " I'll leave table now, please think about your decision Dad, but please give me a chance I promise not to misuse it." Arella woke up with a slump in her walk and left for her room. ********************* Adrian took his fifth shot since his arrival at the pub. He wasn't a drinker in the first place so he didn't know how he found himself there and why he was drinking. He had just broken up with the love of his life, or so he thought, but something kept telling he was doing something wrong. For starters, he didn't think twice when he saw her wrapped up in those sheets, he did the first thing that came to his mind, loathe her. He couldn't understand why that was the first thing that came to his mind and he kept getting the feeling that something was wrong but the feeling was fleeting and he couldn't quite grasp it before it was out of his reach again. He gave up with a sigh and thought of the call he received that led him to the hotel, a strange number and a voice he didn't recognise. He pushed all of those to the back of his mind when he remembered telling Sabrina to get ready for the wedding in two weeks time, he was a rational man and he never acted the way he was doing today but then he was a man of his word so he would push through with the wedding, as an agreement between the both of them he added to himself after a moment of thought. Yes, that was for the best. Done thinking, he picked up his phone and though his vision was blurry he managed to send his address to his assistant. Drinking was a habit he never cultivated and he wasn't about to start because of a woman. Online the internet was exploding with news of the breakup of the famous couple, everyone was wondering what happened but none of the parties involved stepped up to clarify. Fans of the couple were on edge when three days later, Adrian himself announced his marriage to Sabrina Adams in two weeks time. Questions flew everywhere, the tension was palpable but other than the announcement there was no clarification about his relationship with Arella and why it ended. Reporters had tried to reach any of them for the juice of the gossip but ultimately turned up empty handed. Sabrina sat on one of the couches scrolling through the net and clicked her tongue in annoyance. She would have loved to go out to those reporters and tell them what they wanted to hear, she wanted to make sure that Arella could never lift her head again in C city but Adrian had warned her not to appear in public eye and she knew there was probably being watched right now and she wanted to maintain the image she had carefully crafted just for him; kind, loving, understanding and willing to bend and stretch to please him. Her sister walked up to her with two glasses in hand " let's celebrate sister, you finally got the man of your dreams and that b***h is out of your way" Sabrina took one of the glasses with a smile knowing that all her time spent scheming and planning didn't go in vain. "Cheers" she said and raised the glass to her lips and downed it's content. "So what will happen now?" Sarah, her little sister asked. "I'm waiting for him to approach me with the wedding plans. He asked me to prepare but he's no ordinary man so I can't go out on my own" there was a hint of smile on her face as she thought about her victory over Arella and the fact that Adrian actually fell for it, to her meant he liked her. Her phone rang and she picked up on first ring "Good day Miss Adams, I request your presence in my office at 2pm. I'll send someone to get you, is that okay?" " Not a problem..." She was about to say his name when he hung up but she wasn't bothered. She already had him everything else will come slowly
