Ruben's Point of View

"Sir, nakatulog po si miss Jade." Sabi ni Allan.

I sighed and looked at the girl who carelessly fell asleep in my bed. "You can go now Allan, i'll take care of this." And as Allan left us alone, umupo ako sa tabi ni Jade at pinagmasdan sya sa kaniyang mukha.

It's been years already, at hanggang ngayon kasama ko pa rin 'tong babae na 'to. Alam kong sinabi ko na wala akong pake kung ano man ang mangyari sa babae na 'to, pero both our parents are already setting up our fate.

Balang araw papakasalan ko sya, whether we both like it or not. It's not like i hate Jade because of that, what i hate most is our parents. Ayoko sa lahat ang kinokontrol ako.

I'd like to live my life the way i want it.

"Pero wala akong choice dahil nasa puder pa rin ako ng magulang ko." I whispered. Kinuha ko ang librong nakapatong sa kanyang sikmura at itinabi ito.

And as i looked at her face again, i held her wrists and talked to her as if she's awake. "But since i can't do anything about our damn fixed marriage, i might as well own you like my property. I won't let any other guys touch or steal you from me, you're mine Hazelle Jade Garcia."

Napabitiw ako sa kanya ng makita ko syang napahikab at nagmulat ng mata nya. "Hmm, Ruben?" Aniya.

I rolled my eyes at her. "Nakatulog ka sa higaan ko. Baka natuluan mo pa ng laway mo."

"H-Hoy, di ako ganon matulog ah!" Hinampas nya pa 'ko sa balikat.

"Umalis ka na nga dyan, baka kumapit pa baho mo sa higaan ko."

"Grabeng sama mo naman!" Napikon ko kagad si Jade. Then bigla syang napabuklat sa dala nyang bag. "Nga pala, muntik ko nang makalimutan. I need you to see this."

Binigay nya sa akin yung letter na nakuha nya kahapon.

"Oh... you want me to read this?" I asked her.

"Uhh not exactly. Akala ko nong una love letter talaga but it seems that you're right, prank lang ata yan." Aniya. Tas mukhang nalungkot pa sya.

Pagkabukas ko ng letter, there's nothing but dots and dashes. Napangisi lang ako at ibinulsa ang papel. "I told you so, panget mo kasi."

"Ugh! Ang sama ng ugali mo."

"I know, nagtataka lang din ako kasi nakakatagal ka sa'kin." She giggled and suddenly hugged me from behind.

"That's because i'm your best friend you idiot!" Pfft. This girl is so ridiculous sometimes.

Napangiti ako at ginulo ang buhok nya. "Yeah right."

Matapos non, umuwi na si Jade dahil baka maabutan sya ng gabi. Pagkahatid ko sa kanya ay binalikan ko ang letter na nareceive ni Jade. That girl is so clueless.

"This letter has quite the charm, but if you give it to an idiot then they will never understand this." Then i searched up the meaning behind those dots and dashes to decode this morse coded letter.

And the letter said:

I've always liked you Jade. And up until now, i still do.

I hope you notice me someday.

August.

I knew it was gonna be something like this, but the last part gave me a good surprise. August? The only person that came into mind is the person from the C.C. with the codename August. Admirer sya ni Jade?

Nilamukot ko ang papel at itinapon sa basurahan. "Well it doesn't matter, that idiot failed to convey his feelings to Jade anyway."

This doesn't really mean that much, but it just bugs me a little to find out that someone likes Jade.

Sometimes when i sleep at Ruben's house, i get the most strangest and weirdest dreams there. Dati nanaginip ako na tumaba ako dahil sa kakakain ng mga luto ni tita. Then nanaginip din ako na sinasakal ako ni Ruben tas pinagsasabihan nya ko na papatayin nya ko. May isa pa kong panaginip na pinakasalan ni Ruben yung butler nyang si Allan.

Ugh! It was all so very weird!

Then ngayong araw nung nakatulog ulit ako sa kanila, nanaginip nanaman ako. Tapos sobrang weird ni Ruben! Di ko din makalimutan yung mga sinabi nya sa akin non. He told me, "I won't let any other guys touch or steal you from me, you're mine Hazelle Jade Garcia."

Napahawak ako sa pisngi ko dahil biglang uminit pakiramdam ko. "Aaaaahhh! Bwisit ka Ruben! Ampanget-panget mo!!!" Sigaw ko.

Nakakabanas naman yung panaginip na 'yon, kadiri putek! Bigla namang may kumatok sa kwarto ko. "Miss Jade!! May problema po ba!?"

"Ah!! Wala po manang! Wala po!" Sabi ko.

"Ba't naman po kayo sumigaw miss!? Akala ko naman may nangyari." Takteng katulong na 'to, lakas makareklamo.

"Eh sa gusto kong sumigaw, wag mo na lang ako pansinin." Sagot ko.

"Ewan ko sayo miss, magluluto na 'ko ng pananghalian." Tas umalis na si manang.

Now going back to my thoughts, i can't believed that i dreamed of Ruben like that. It's so embarassing to have that kind of dream about your best friend. I love him but more like a brother, i can never fall inlove with him.

And that will never happen!

"Tch. I'm so stupid." I buried my face on my pillow and told myself that i'm gonna forget about that stupid dream.

...besides, if i ever did fell inlove with Ruben... he'll definitely be grossed out and say i'm just crazy. There are just some people who were just really meant to be friends than lovers after all.

And isa kami sa mga tao na yon.

I sighed and just shrugged all those stupid thoughts away. Ayoko ng ganito. Di naman ako desperadang magkaron ng boyfriend, at lalong di ko inaasahang magiging boyfriend ko si Ruben dahil potek nakakakilabot!!

But... fine!!! Gusto ko nga magkaron na ng jowa, sino ba naman hindi diba? Andami kasing paasa sa mundo, ang malas ko lang talaga dahil isa ako sa mga umaasa.
