Chapter 11: Meeting him, finally

Who would know that after years, she'd finally see him? She was so nervous and she could feel the loneliness in her heart was swept away by happiness and anticipation.

It was her first time feeling this after those years. She always thought that whatever she would do, those emotions that was once filled her heart won’t ever fill her heart again, because it was filled of nothingness.

However, hearing that she could see Davien again... her heart was in a turmoil. She don’t know what to feel. Was it supposed to be madness, sadness or happiness??

Now.. all she could do is to try to look firm and unmoved by his unexpected appearance.

She was lowering her head when her Secretary told her, “Ma’am, they are near to us.” Suddenly, she became thirsty. What’s this inexplicable feelings?

Ruby blink continuously, while she tried on breathing normally. However... it was as if... she was eager to see him thus she couldn’t find ways to make her heart and mind comfortable.

Stopping in front of them. She gulped, she wore that expressionless face though her heart was wavering. Sighing she slightly smiled which she forced herself to.

Tucking out her hands, she said, “Nice to meet you CEO Zhao.” That moment, because she was utterly nervous, she subconsciously tucked her hands. Her secretary was in a mess because she knew she had a sensitive reaction if she were to touch people.

The Secretary of Davien coughed, he was awkward but he need to say, “Ma’am, CEO doesn’t like to touch people's---”

Davien waved his hand to him motioning to stop saying anything. “Nice to meet you, Miss Lu.” They both shook their hands though Davien knew he was allergic while Ruby wasn’t in her mind.

After that handshake... she bit her lips cursing herself why did she shook hands with him??!!

The way they greeted each other was nothing but courtesy. It was polite as when she greeted other CEO's.

What she didn’t saw was his eyes, the wavering eyes and the longing eyes that was plastered when they shake their hands.

“Please this way.” She said walking side wards giving them space to walk.

Secretary Hill; secretary of Davien was supposed to ask him why did he shook hands with her but before he even got a chance, he silent him by looking to him darkly.

Ruby felt so uncomfortable with the handshake. She thought maybe, her Hypersensitivity won’t work because it’s Davien... however, it still reacted the way it used to be.

They walked two stepped backwards from Davien. She’s getting anxious about her Hypersensitivity and want to drink her vitamins again.

When they got inside the car, Ruby asked her vitamins and drank it quickly.

Davien was paying attention at her every movements.

He was happy that he got to see her again also, he want to see who’s that jerk who was his boyfriend previously. The daring jerk who got Ruby while they were dating happily.

She was quiet and very graceful.

Probably, after our fight, she doesn’t want to see a slight figure of mine, but what can I do? I was the one who wanted to see her, and of course to link myself to her with my propaganda; the Partnership.

My true intention was to make my company more famous and be known to the world. Despite that, I want to check Ruby's situation. I wanted to keep my eyes to her and also if she have a boyfriend.

Certainly, before making my company famous, the first thing, is I like to see her, look at her and even chat with her. But the thing is.. she wasn’t the previous Ruby that I knew.

This Ruby was uncomfortable to be with, very silent and barely smile the way she used to be.

So what happened those seven years while he was gone?? Did her boyfriend cheated on her or broke her heart?! No, not him... the other one who called Ruby 'Baby'.

They arrived on the restaurant then picked the VVIP room where they can talk privately regarding their business.

“Would you like to order some foods?” Ruby asked him as she was avoiding to look at his eyes hence busying herself to search for food. “Here’s the menu.” Without looking at him, she passed the folder politely.

Davien was a bit amused by her actions. Why don’t she look at him? “I.. see...” He said uncertain. He, himself don't even know if what he said was connected or he just wanted to say something...

“I want this Steak, this and this one please.” Davien said as he peek to Ruby.

Ruby quietly made her order and thanked the waiter.

“You seem to lose weight.” He started to talk.

Ruby was astonished why did he asked such question, “... Ah... yes. Because of work, I lost my weight. You too CEO, you seem to lose your weight too.” She awkwardly smiled.

“Really? You’re the first one who said that way.” He said with a lot of seriousness.

She was dumbfounded, with a few seconds, she replied, “I have the honour.” She bowed.

Looking around, he asked again, “How are you doing these years?” Titling his head to get a better view of her face.

Ruby pinched her legs, “It was fine.” She lowered her head intentionally. ‘It wasn’t actually fine... I was always there waiting for your figure to appear in front of me, wishing that one day, you'll come and hug me and say that everything will be alright.’

Yes, I was never informed that the day I was wishing for to come was right now.

We’re facing each other but why does it feel like I was in front of a stranger?

Haa~~ why time sure flew fast? I was hoping for this day to come yet now that I'm here, I was hoping that it ends soon because it’s suffocating her to be with him here alone.

She looked up to him, “How about you, CEO Zhao, are you fine these past years?” She couldn’t help but to linked her hands and felt incredibly uncomfortable.

Davien tapped the table rhythmically seemingly pondering, “... Hmm...?” He said with a bit of question in the end of his word. “Yes... I am fine those years.” He said and met her eyes, they stared at each other and the waited arrived opening the door.

The staring contest ended with the awkward coughs of Davien and Ruby's narrowing eyes.

The waiter felt like she did something wrong because Davien was staring at her continuously. Perhaps she shouldn’t have opened the door at that time.
