Chapter 10: That moment

After Five Years~

“Oh Ruby, didn't I already told you about the partnership with another company?” Her father asked her while they were in his office.

She tilted her head because she forgot again. “...Ah! I forgot about that, the meeting yesterday night was late and the arrival of the man you had been telling me to meet up was today at 10:00 AM, this morning at the airport.” She looked at her watch and estimated if she ever has time to meet him up.

Her Dad looked at her and linked his arms. “Are you curious of who is this man and why am I pestering you to meet him up for partnership with us?” Seeing her expressionless face, he was helpless but to sigh desperately.

“I’ll ask my Secretary about that later on the way.” She simply said standing formally.

Her father sough again. “...I-- Haa~~~ are you sure about that?” He looked at her.

“Of course... were you trying to set me up with that man?” She asked with a frown.

“Eh? No! He was tall, handsome, popular, looked like an artist and you know what? He was the dream man of all the ladies here!!” He said with a determination of wanting Ruby to say happily, 'Really?? Who is he??'

But it was shattered when she said, “Are you his fan? I will get his autograph later, how about that?”

Her father neared to her and held her shoulders. “All I want is for you to be happy.” He smiled then went to sat on his president's chair.

“Of course. Then... the dinner later with Mr. Shu shall be on 7:15 PM at night, how about that?” She said with seriousness.

“Oh... yeah. Of course. There are still two hours before meeting the man whom we have partnership with, you can have a rest now.”

She bowed, “Yes.”

The clacking of her high heels could be heard throughout his entire office and even when she walked out, the noise could be heard getting away.

Her father smiled imagining what will happen after two hours.

Ruby went to her office and the name she wrote for her as a Vice President was 'Lana.’ It means 'Light' and was her true name. Ruby Lana Lu.

No one knew she has two names, because she hid the other one.

Now everyone knew her as 'Ma'am Lana'.

Her image inside the company made by the employees was, not that kind, not that scary but sometimes yes and most of the times... a savage 'Ma'am Lana.’

You probably should lower your head when she is scolding you or when she is just walking past.

“Ma’am Lana, this was the agreement between LuEmpire and Sheina’s modelling to us.” Her secretary Ivory said.

“Sheina??” Ruby ask with a knit of her brows.

“Yes, Ma'am. Sheina Park. She is famous in modelling entertainment and you told me the other day to find a suitable model for our cosmetics. “ Ivory put the folder on the table.

Ruby raised a brow. The bully whom she didn’t expect to be a model now is a famous model and a top 1 for having S body. The most shocking was, Sheina would work with their company.

What a great coincidence.

“Ahh... I see. I will re-check them first.” She said as she took a pen.

“Yes, Ma'am. Call me when you need something.” Ruby nodded without looking at Ivory.

Ivory was so used working with her, though Ruby always wore that expressionless and savage face, Ruby was indeed a good Boss for Ivory. Ivory doesn’t like the employees to say that her boss Lana is very scary thus she always scolded those who said it that way.

She respected her Boss Lana, because one time, her family don't have any money.

Someone stole it while all of them are asleep so Ruby helped her by giving her a three months expenses and she raised her salary by two times.

What's more... Ruby miraculously found the thief. Ivory didn’t know how but she had this intuition that Ruby held some backer behind her back.

She was very happy that time and didn’t know how to pay back her benevolence, so in return she promised that whatever happened she'll always be beside Ma'am Lana.

The time has come for Ruby to meet up the man. She felt wary and unsteady. When she felt this, she's certain something will happen or... there is something wrong with the man she's meeting with...

“Ma’am... I think our company met a fortunate partnership!! This would be great for us and for them!” Ivory said as she flipped the pages from the agreement between the two company.

“Have you checked the agreement?” Ruby asked as she was busy staring at the view outside.

“Yes!! I made it very great!” Ivory replied.

“Alright, then.” Ruby said, her left hand on her thighs and her right hand was holding her luxurious bag.

“So, who was this man that the president are dying for to have partnership with?” She quickened her pace afraid that the man might had been waiting for a long time now.

“Yes, it is Davien Zhao from LiJi company.”

“...What?!!!” She shouted and momentarily stopped walking then looked at Ivory.

Ivory pointed herself, “Ahh... Did... I do something... w-wrong Ma'am??” She was sweating a lot because it’s the first time she heard her Boss shouted like this.

Ruby breathed, “Tell me... What did you say the man name was??” She knitted her brows.

“Ahm... Davien... Zhao... from LiJi Company.”

Ruby lowered her head and sigh. That’s why her father was so eager to have a partnership with this man... Because it’s LiJi and they’re very famous now. I know... I heard about that Company every day.

“...I see.. Alright. Let’s go. I was shocked how the president got this famous company to have partnership with us.” She lied then dug out her skin on her palm while biting her lips silently.

“LiJi now is very famous about their clothes hence I put on the agreement that; LuEmpire and LiJi would have an incoming event where there would be a set of the two companies products, of course it’ll be limited edition...” Ivory continued on her speech while Ruby was not listening and feeling weary about Davien not the agreement.
