Chapter 9: Two years had passed

After two years~~

Ruby looked at her phone then saw Gesile’s post. ‘Jamming with friends, only one person is missing. @RubyLu_Jewel98’.

She slightly smiled then closed her i********: account.

“What did you see that made you smiled?” Harrison voiced out.

It was a miracle to see her smile, after that incident, Ruby was even more sensitive to touch.

They barely touched her, just a nudge and she will feel itchy and feel uncomfortable. They breathed then decided to hire a doctor for her to maintain her regular medicine, to calm her normality.

She put down her phone then glanced at Harrison.

"Gesile’s Post." She simply answered.

Furthermore, after that incident with Davien, she barely have two sentences to talk with them, she prefer to put it simple than to say lot of words.

It was too burdensome to say things that’ll lead to talk with each other.

“Right! Harrison, father told us that today you’ll be going to Harvard. Really?” Veizy asked with a trace of loneliness.

Harrison breathed. “Yeah. I have to continue our business. I heard the former Vice President retired last week… I wonder who’ll be the next Vice President.” He said with a shook head.

“Aren’t you?” Veizy ask while lifting her knife and looking at him.

“The thing is, I will be a Vice President first to test my skills then after that time, I'll be the President. If I am just a Vice President, people will surely laughed to us.” He precisely told her.

“Also, as the oldest among here, I have the responsibility to take the risk and continue what father had started. So… you should focus more on your career and help us if someday… the company went bankrupt.”

Though it was truly what happened in their company, Veizy couldn’t help but to feel bad about their business.

There were many retired people and because they went bankrupt, rare people wanted to work for them.

Of course, there were some people who wanted to be loyal thus stayed with the LuEmpire, however, those people began to ponder about changing their work, so to avoid that, Harrison must hurry and be responsible about it since, he hasn’t learned that much so generally, it will be hard for him to handle the company if he’ll own the President’s position right now.

Ruby went inside her room to help her father on handling the company matters. Those two years passed like wind. She has yet to see his figure nor did she hear any news of him.

Those weeks, months, years passed somewhat gloomy and very… lonely. Probably, because she was used to him being right next to her.

She was attached to him that she began to miss him every time she checked her phone.

It was very cliched that she was used to him and she was never informed if he ever missed her.

After organizing her stuffs, she went straight to her father’s study room. As soon as she went inside, the depressed sigh of her father could be heard while facing the window seemingly pondering that his company won’t last long than he imagined it would be.

She bowed down then went inside. Putting down the folders, she said, “Father, if you kept doing that… you’ll never think of any solution. How about you check this suggestions of mine? It might help.” His father smiled to her.

“No, it’s just so sad to see that the result was not I expected it to be.”

“Didn’t I tell you not to expect? Dad, check this first, hmm? I poured all the things I studied back when I was in college.” She looked at her stressed father and couldn’t help but to feel bad.

“Alright, I will." he replied simply.

He looked at her with anticipation, "Do you have any dream work?”

She wrinkled her brows. She never thought that her father would question such thing she hadn’t thought about.

“Actually, I’ve never thought of it. I was thinking of helping the company if I never found one.” her father was stunned.

“So, you made this suggestions for me to check your qualities and if you are good enough to be in our company?” on his face was an obvious expression of elation.

“Yes, yes. I am thinking of helping the company the way I could.” She was determined to help her father, she also never had this second thought that their company might be really go bankrupt and in return they had to sell their stuffs in order for them to live.

It’s better to try than to feel disappointed that their company won’t ever rise again.

Of course, risking is really hard. But on the other side, it might have a great impact on the company, furthermore it could also be the solution for their dying company.

“I would love to, Ruby. I am so happy that you were willing to help your father. When things are better, let’s celebrate, ok?”

“Of course, Father. Tell me if what I did was good enough.”

Thereafter, she became the Vice President in a short period of time.

At first, the whole Company was shocked that a mere anonymous woman came to be their Vice President.

Moreover, the President had never told them of what’s their relationship… in other words she just became the Vice President.

Certainly, to determine her qualities, the board of Directors questioned her a lot of times but she successfully answered it smoothly.

Currently in a meeting:

“How about the new Vice President show us what she could do in order for us to trust her?” one of the directors suggested which the rest nodded along.

She linked her hands, “Of course. Do you need a proof?” without hearing their reply, she stood up holding piled of folders.

“I was told that, this company needed a lot of retouch including the Directors. I was wondering why until now, all of you had never thought of suggesting a good idea for the company yet accused me for being an uneducated woman?" They widened their eyes, while some of them awkwardly bowed their head.

“Inside these folders were tons of suggestions made by me. Truth to be told, I did it myself because I felt bad for the company and I wanted to help. All of you should see it. I already made a photocopy for each of you.” Sitting down, her secretary passed the folders silently.

Her father was surprised by her daring actions yet it made sense after all.
