Chapter 7: Happy 1 Year Anniversary

It has been months and Ruby was too happy for this day to come because it is a special day for her.

This day, she planned to let him know who her father is personally. She pursed her lips and waited inside the restaurant.

There was still 10 minutes left before the time they planned to meet up. For her, it’s alright if he was late again, as long as he will come.

After 3 minutes she saw his figure and was fascinated. Because it's winter, it's freaking cold like heck.

He was wearing brown turtleneck jacket with black scarf, with his long coat, his black jeans and that silver watch which was really appealing.

He sat on the opposite chair and suddenly chuckled.

In his description—she wore white jacket dress with red scarf and her hair was down looking like very attractive.

She also wear the lotus bracelet again. Every time they went out, he had never seen her took off that bracelet.

Looking at his watch he smiled, “I am not late. Yehey!” he said with a smiling face.

She smiled in return then said, “You’re not, congratulations!” she linked her hands.

Observing around, she seems very confused. “Why was there no other people here?” she whispered.

He curved up his lips then held her hands. “I rented it.” She was surprised. This restaurant wss not that for a well-off persons, but he, he don’t have that much money on his hands, where did he got his money then?

She blinked and was concerned about his money and his living expenses.

She put her left hand at the top of his hand. “You, where did you get your money?” she worriedly ask him with a trembling heart.

What if he… became a beggar? What if he and his sister went to clone their body in order for him to rent this restaurant?

He looks down then smile stiffly, “You don’t need to worry about that. I have taken care of that.” He unhurriedly said staring at her black eyes.

He gulped down a mouthful of saliva, he just couldn’t keep what he did in order to rent this expensive restaurant. “I…I…. loaned money.” He admitted though he was not required to say it out loud.

He embarrassingly took off his hand which was holding onto hers but before he even got a chance, Ruby held it tightly.

Looking up to him she said,

“Listen to me, I don’t care if you don’t have money to rent this, I don’t care if you don’t have roses and cakes to give in this kind of day. What I care is you are with me here celebrating this special day. Did you get it? I don’t want you to sacrifice things just for me. Being with me is already enough.”

She smiled to him and he held her hand like he was praying while bowing down. His eyes let out a tear. When he looked up to her, she lifted her hand and wiped his tear away.

He said, “Thank you. Thank you for not criticizing me, thank you that you cheered me up.”

She smiled to him and nodded. “Now, how about we order? I’ll pay. You don’t. This is required for you to obey.” She said to him then called a waiter to hand them the menu and picked some foods.

He couldn’t change her mind but to obey obediently. Unbelievably, what she ordered were foods that he cannot afford to buy all in one time.

From time to time, he stole glances of her pointing the menu with her index finger while her head was tilted sidewards to see if the food was on her likings.

She whispered to the waiter and the waiter seems very happy about it and left while grinning.

He knitted his brows, “What did you say?” he curiously asked with unsteady mind. She was not going to borrow money, right? Well, a waiter won’t actually smile that big if she was to borrow money.

She smiled to him mysteriously. “Don’t worry, I have money. I can buy these foods.” She said with no intention to boast.

“…Uh?” he was in a daze. What did she meant by that, she can sustain me?

“Whatever the waiter gave to you, you must accept it and never give it back, otherwise I will be mad.” She warned him with the aura of a bossy girlfriend. He laughed and nodded.

The waiter came then he gave Davien a white envelope enough for money to fit in.

“You must open it the moment you went to your house. Can you do that? That is my present to you. Happy 1 year anniversary, I hope we can keep our relationship. I wished that we can understand each other more.” She said then pat her chest like she was saying, trust this beauty in front of you.

He looked at the envelope suspiciously, “…I...I feel honorable to celebrate our anniversary. Here, my present for you.” He took out his present then smiled.

She wanted to open it just like when he wanted to open the envelope she gave to him, however, he stopped her and shook his head, signing her not to open it in front of him.

She pouted, “Alright. I won’t open it too.” She could only sigh. Thereafter, the waiter came back to serve the foods she picked.

Literally, only 18 of the food were the only thing he ordered, afraid that she might not have much that money. She smiled then put foods in front of him.

Putting the spaghetti, she said, “I have money, don’t worry. This time around, I will treat you with all I have.” She said with a genuine smile.

The two of them chatted happily. Mainly, to reminisce the struggles they had as a couple.

Naturally, all couples haf that little fight that seemingly somewhat childish but for them it was serious.

They laughed at their immaturity and criticize each other. Though they knew they are imperfect, all those flaws makes them like they are perfect person for each other.

Now that they are 19 and 20, they have wide view about things and variations of things to collect as they grow old.

They wished that they will not get bored to each other so that they can show off to people how far they could last as couple.

For now, they will go to their house and Ling Ji was currently waiting for her to finish in the restroom. She intentionally left her phone for Davien to check if she had any other man, and actually there was no reason for her to hide it.

Of course she reminded that he must check her phone in case someone text or call her. He tapped the table by his hands while patiently waiting for his girlfriend.

5 seconds after, her phone rang with the name of ‘Ervin.’ He curiously picked it up with a nervous heart.

He doesn’t know but he clearly saw the text with the first word of, ‘Baby.’

What just...

What in the world?!

Did she left her cellphone only to slap him at the reality of, she have another man?!

He was fuming in anger, how could she have another man in front of him?

Was she implying that she had another man that was much better-off than him?

He held the phone tightly with his right hand then got out of the restaurant to calm his mind but he just couldn’t.

He kept walking back and forth while scratching his hair.

She successfully went outside grinning sweetly.

He closed his eyes deeply.

He couldn’t believe that an innocent girl like him was just like those brute girls, and he was just a replacement when that Ervin was not beside her.

“Let’s go!” she linked her arms to him but he dodged and said, “Ruby, *sigh* how can you afford to do this?” she was surprised.

What have I done to him?

“Huh?” she was in a daze then approach him. “Why?” she ask cautiously. Looking at him, she wanted to surprise him by telling him whom she was.
