The tightness in her chest lessened. She was feeling a little better. It didn’t seem as if the walls were closing around her out here. Stacey didn’t want Tony to wonder where she had gone so she headed back to the party. The kitchen had changed little when Stacey returned. For once, Jacob was letting someone else speak for a change. A tall woman was talking about something not at all interesting. Allison shot Stacey a bored look. Stacey scanned the room for Tony. Tony was there, talking to Charlie. She balked at the idea of joining Tony right then. But he must have sensed her because he glanced up and beckoned her over. Charlie saw her at the same moment. His back went stiff as he stared at her. “There you are. Was wondering where you went,” Tony remarked as he pulled her in for a hug.
