Hill told us we could leave if we wanted. I walked over to Ronald and told him we would still be here if he needed us. He thanked me and Mac and I returned to the Sanchez’s. Hector was not around but one of his guys was still in the restaurant waiting.
We told him he could leave now and he nodded and pulled out his phone while he stepped outside. I wondered if Hector left when the patrol car arrived or if he could sense it coming before it’s arrival. People like him always seem to have a sense when it’s time to leave.
