Chapter 39
Seeing David with the gun made it obvious time was running out. Alec looked at Kaisa. She nodded because, like always, she seemed to know what he was thinking. Her hand was in her pocket. Knowing her, she was going to be giving orders to Hatchwater, preparing the ship for what was going to come next. David was right when he said it was unlikely they were all going to leave his office, considering the sheer number of guards they were going to have to deal with, but that didn’t mean Alec wasn’t going to try to get them all out. Somehow.
Firing the gun he’d been holding for so long wasn’t entirely planned, but then David dropped to the ground. One shot to the head was all it took. Silence followed the shot just for a second before all the guns of the guards seemed to fire at once
