The building was empty. Alec looked at Kaisa. She nodded, agreeing with his thought without actually needing to hear it. Someone knew what they’d been planning. As they went up another floor, he shook his head. No guards, no robots, no executives… and there was no reason for that to be the case. Leaving would be the better option. The logical option. Only it was their one chance to do what needed to be done, so leaving wasn’t the right choice. Instead, he kept leading them towards the floor he knew the CEO would be on, trying to ignore the growing tension.
