Chapter Thirty-Nine
I felt myself jolt awake from my deep sleep, a sense of restlessness came over me. I knew I was not about to go back to sleep anytime soon. I bit my lip as I pushed the covers to the side. Quickly picking up one of the many candles I had lit in my room and the book I was currently studying, I made my way to my bedroom door.
Startling the guard stationed outside, I smiled sweetly at him. “Sorry, I can’t sleep, I want to head to my office and start the day early.” He nodded, while following me down the hall. This man was very young but no doubt capable. His name was Boris and he was born into the Shadow Pack, trained by Ronan himself.
