It's a bloody mess

His lips warm and silk against mine. My body pressed against his, a wave of heat between us, inspite of the water. Sparks igniting on my body, feeling his hot breath under my nose. Almost too late I realize what I'm doing. I push him away, rushing out of the water. His lips, his touch still lingered, and I was beating myself for wanting more. “Amber!?" He calls my name but I ignore him. Not even wanting to ever see him again. “What was that?" Stormi questions as I rush to get my clothes. “ You just kissed our enermy," she points out. “I didn't see you stop me," I reply, hurrying away from the waterfall. I didn't even bother to put my clothes back on. I run to the forest, trying to reach my bedroom as fast as I can. My body shudders, as the cold water dries with the cold breeze. “We have to leave," I say, climbing back to my room. Even though it was pretty high, it didn't require much effort. “Why?" Stormi questions. “Are you really gonna ask me why?" I ask her. After all that I couldn't stay here. I needed to stay away, to be far as possible. “But we still need more information," she says. Though, we don't seem to be getting anywhere with the information. All we ended up getting, is a kiss from a man who is a suspect. " At least think about this Amber, “ she tries to convince me. But I don't think I can stay here any longer. Not when it is distracting me from reaching my goal. " First thing in the morning. I'm living, “ I tell her. Removing my wet under clothes, drying my hair still dripping water. " But if we leave, where will we go? Back to Whien Frya? It's not like he want find us if we run away, “ she tells me. But my decision has been made, and my mind has decided. " I don't know Stormi. But I know I can't stay any longer. I'm afraid that I'll do something I regret of I stay.“ I was afraid I might do something more than a kiss. Something that will lead us off our investigation. I can't deny even when I hate him, I still feel the pull of the mate bond some how. I don't understand, but I do, and I don't want to stay long enough to understand. ** In the, morning already coming out of the shower. Getting ready to leave this place. I put on a white blouse with some blue jeans. Still brushing my hair in front of the mirror. With that I hear a knock on the door, and I don't have to say come in, the person is already inside. I turn around to see Angela, and she looks stressed some how. " What are doing? “ She questions as already noticing my bags on the floor. " Leaving,” I tell her. " No. No! You can't leave now, “ she tells me. As if there was something to make me stay. I have already decided, I don't want to be here. "Why? I didn't come here to stay, “ I respond putting away the brush. Turning my attention fully on her. " We really need your help. I can't let you leave, “ she claims. She rushes to grab my hand , pulling me to the door. " Where are taking me? “ I question trying to break free from her strong grip. She doesn't speak but keeps dragging me. When I'm in the entrance hall, I'm surprised to see everyone in the state of panic. What is going on? Why is everyone so scared? “Take her to the clinic. She's a doctor," she says to one of the gaurds. But I'm still confused without answers, and now they are scaring me. “What happened? What's going on Angela?" I demand answers. Why was I needed at the clinic. What happened here? Is someone hurt. “Angela? Where are going?" I cry as she turns away leaving me behind. “ I have to go Amber. Please follow Jake to the clinic," she says seconds turning into her wolf. She swifts away disappearing into the forest. “ Follow me," Jake says. Scared I hurry after him as he leads me to the clinic. From far I could smell the stenchy of blood. There's usually a smell of blood in the hospital, but not this much unless there was an accident. My doctor immediately activated as I knew that couldn't mean anything good. I burst inside, and almost stop on my tracks at the sight. Man and women covered in blood laying everywhere. They look horrible. With huge scars on their bodies, skin tearing from their bones. Covered in blood head to toe. They groan and scream in excruciating pain. The small number of doctors they had moving up and down trying to help the injured man. Also scared and panicking. Just chaos everywhere. “ What happened in here?" I question looking at the scared victims. They look like they've seen something worse than a ghost. Their fear is beyond comprehension. And I could feel their agonizing pain. “They were attacked. We have to helped them they are bleeding out," one nurse says. “They are werewolves. Can't they heal themselves," I question already getting ready to help the injured bodies. The nurses leading me to get sterilized and put on the scrubs. “ Yes. But their wounds are not healing. We've tried everything. Nothing is helping the bleeding . They've been bleeding like this since they arrived here, “ they explain. " And I'm scared we might lose them, “ the nurse says with pain in her voice. I know I don't like the pack, but I can't let them just die like this. Even if we are werewolves, that much bleeding is good enough to kill us. " No we are not losing anyone. Not today, “ I said getting ready to help. The moment I'm done I jump in to help. I try to stabilize them, cleaning their wounds and try to stop the bleeding. But the nurse was correct, their bleeding doesn't stop. And now of them are weak. They are dying from losing blood. We couldn't seal the wounds like this, they would only just continue to bleed internally. It didn't help that the blood didn't clot but continue pouring out like water. And the only that does manage to clot, didn't stop the blood from coming out. What kind of wounds are these? This is not normal. I would say it is a hemophilia case, but we've tried relevant treatments and neither work. I'm almost getting frustrated as I also don't know what to do anymore. Everything I try is futile. What could have done this? I didn't think it was possible for a wolf to do this to another wolf. Pained and helpless I bend down, trying to clean the wound of the man laying on the blood red sheets. He groans in pain noting he's still conscious, digging his claws in my arm. I wince in pain as my arm starts bleeding too. “ Calm down. I'm trying to help you," I cry, unable to stop the drops of blood that drip on top of him. But in the process I notice something else that makes me think I imagined it. When my blood hit his wound it starts healing almost immediately. “How did you do that?" One of the nurses notices rushing to where I was standing. I still stand stunned looking at the nurse not sure what to respond. Unfortunately not noticing the more drops of blood that are falling on top of him. If I was in any other operating room I would be in trouble now, bleeding on top of patients. “ Your blood! Your blood is- It's healing him!" She notes freaked as she points on his chest. " Uhh-” I jump back still not knowing what to answer to her. Could be really that my blood is the solution to all this. I don't want to believe it. There should be another explanation if I don't know. " If your blood can do that. Maybe ours can help too, “ She says thinking this is what they needed to heal. Blood from another werewolf. But aren't they on blood transfusion? “ I don't think you should be putting your blood on patients. I don't think my blood healed him. He was just startled and scratched my arm," I tell the nurse. What kind of nonsense is that. But they don't listen to me. They rush to test it out. Maybe we'll talk about how awkward this later. Because I've never this kind of medicine being practiced this way. They do try but it doesn't work. Maybe it was just a fluke. Maybe it's something else that helped their wounds that we don't realize. Because I knew it couldn't be my blood. " It's not working, “ she says striding my direction. My bleeding arms is already healed since I'm a werewolf. “Ouch!" I cry. She doesn't even ask for my permission slitting my hand with a knife. Dragging me to the suffering victims. Dropping my blood in their open flesh. Like she expected they start healing. The wounds stop bleeding. What is happening? It couldn't be my blood doing this. “Stormi did you know about this?" I ask my wolf because I'm so confused. And scared at the very same time. “ I also don't know. I'm surprised as you. But if this what helps. We have to keep helping them," she encourages. It's not like I have other choices. The nurse held my hand tight as she makes sure every wound healed. I understood since they are part of the pack, that she must be so scared of losing them. And it's part of the fears when you're a doctor. It's always hard losing someone, you always feel like you could have done more to help them. That you didn't do enough even when you know it was beyond your control. My blood somehow heals every wolf. Even though most still lie on conscious with the amount of blood they lost. And I'm feeling a little light head as I'm too losing blood in the process. I had to drop some of my blood in the their blood transfusions just 'to make sure'. By the time they are done, my vision is blurring and I can barely stand straight. “Amber?" I hear Angela shout behind me. I slowly turn around to look at her , as I would fall if I moved any faster. “... Angela..." I try to raise my hand to wave at her. But fail miserably, falling to the ground. Luckily I feel her catching me, and that's when everything fades into darkness. ** My eyes slowly open, and I wince as bright light enters my eyes. My head spinning like crazy as I try to make out my surroundings. Where am I ? I can barely remember any information of how I got here. “Amber? You're awake," suddenly Angela is towering over my face as she inspects me. She looks worried. And then I finally remember everything from earlier. The injured wolf, using my blood to help them. “Is everyone okay?" I mumbled still worried. What if after all that they still didn't survive. “Yes they are all fine. What about you? You fainted. What happened in there?" She worries helping me to sit up straight. So they haven't told her about the blood. I don't think I want to be told about that too. It's horrifying. “ I don't know. I just gave everyone my blood to help them to survive," I respond still jogging my memory. “What? Why would you do that? There's enough blood—” I cut her," Well my blood is the only blood that could heal them, “ I say to her. Confusion fills her face, when she hears me say. But I also can hardly explain what happened. I don't think anyone can. " What are you talking about? “ She asks for clarity. " The wolves were bleeding out. And we couldn't stop them bleeding, “ the nurse from the clinic cuts in. " Their wounds were not healing like they should. They were bleeding excessively and they were losing too much blood. And there was nothing else we can do, we tried everything we can. Her blood helped us heal them and save their lives, “ she explains. But that didn't give Angela any clarity. " Couldn't you use some other wolf's blood? “ She questions almost irritated. " No. Like she said. Her blood was the only blood that could heal them, “ she answers. " But how could you give up that much blood. You could have hurt yourself, “ she says this time addressing me. Looking really worried. " What was I supposed to do? I couldn't let them die. And it's not like when you left you were doing anything safe, “ I respond. " I'm the Beta. I had to go to look for who attacked them. It's my duty to protect the pack, “ she answers. " And I'm a doctor. It's my duty to help dying patients. Even if it means losing my blood. Besides I'm not a child Angela, “ I say cupping her face in my hands. " I love that you worry about me. I worry about you too. You don't have to worry so much, I can take of myself, “ I try to make her understand. As now I'm feeling way better than before. " I know that. I just that.... We were really worried about you, “ she says taking my hands in hers. " You and who?" Skeptical of the 'we' since everyone hates me. She looks at me raising her eyebrow. And for some reason I knew exactly who she was talking about. “Look I'm fine okay. I was just a little overwhelmed that's all," I answer stepping out of the bed as now I feel a lot better. “ You're not still planning to leave are you?" She recalls, making me remember that I was actually planning to leave this place. “What will I be staying for? I was not here to stay, it's not like anyone wants me here," I respond, she hold my hand preventing me from leaving. “I know you don't want to stay here. But you can't leave now. We still need you," she pleads making me almost want to stay. “You don't need me. This pack never needed me. Besides I've done my job," I say. “But we still haven't found who attacked them. And they may come back. And we have very few doctors in the pack. And you did say your blood is the only thing that helped them, “ she tries to make me understand. " But this pack's problems are none of my business. Besides, aren't you the one who told me I could have hurt myself a few minutes ago? “ " I know how you feel about this pack. But we are still your family. And we really need your help, “ she begs almost on her knees. Though I hate them I guess I didn't want them to die so horribly. And if that happens again, they really will do need my help. Maybe I don't hate them as much as I thought. But mostly because Angela makes up for their stupidity. " Fine I'll stay. Only for a few days until you sort out your problems. Otherwise, I'm gone, “ I finally agree. " Thank you, “ Angela pulls me into a tight hug. Sensing that me agreeing to help the pack isn't the only reason she's happy. " Ahem... “ She clears her throat suddenly backing away as she finally realizing what she's doing. “Isn't she cute," Stormi teases. I chuckle in my head as she looks almost embarrassed. “Am I wrong if I still think they deserve this?" I ask. Because at some point that's exactly how I feel. That they should pay for their crimes. “No," Angela answers. “ Do you have a car?" I ask her. She looks surprised by my question. “Yes. But why do you need a car?" She searches. “I'll need your keys. And no I'm not leaving. I just want some fresh air," I assure her. But mostly I want to check back at grandma's place. Maybe I'll find something I missed there. I thought to myself. “No you can't leave now. It's dangerous. The attacker is still on the loose," she warns me. Though staying here won't help anything. As much as they need to find the attacker I need to find the person who killed my grandma. “I'll be fine. Don't worry about me," I assure her but she doesn't believe it. “Let me come with you then," she offers already walking towards the door. “Angela I understand that you're worried. But I'll be fine. Besides your pack needs you here," I try to stop her. “ Just trust me okay. I agreed to stay. The least you can do is let me get some fresh after everything today," I try to reason with her. She backs away, but still not happy with my decision. “Can't you let some gaurds come with you at least?" “ I need to be alone. Car keys please," I say. Though I thought of the danger I couldn't tell her about what happened to my grandma. I know she would probably help, but still I couldn't disclose that information. She can't know where I'm going. No one else from this pack should know. She finally agrees to give me the keys. And leads me to her expensive car. Oh well Beta jobs pay well after all. I hope I don't scratch it, I don't think my insurance can cover this. I finally drive away from the pack. Even though I'm not leaving, it still feels good to leave the territory. I try to clear my mind from everything that happened today. To focus on the mission ahead. I couldn't let everything that happened at the pack distract me. I drive straight to granny's place. When I arrive at the farm, my heart aches as all the memories come flooding back. I could never heal from it. I feel hot tears in my eyes, as I step into the small house. The farm is big, with a variety of plants. But you could tell the owner is gone, they look depressed. I walk into the house, the sight of blood still the same place I left it. Its clear that no one has been here since I left this place. “I really hate who ever did this," I confess as I step inside. Stormi whimpers in pain. I could feel her hurt, her anger and resentment. And I felt the exact same. I organize cleaning products to clean the blood stain off the floor. My tears trickle, as I kneel down to clean the rusty looking stain as blood had gone dry. Blood that belongs to someone that meant so much in my life. And suddenly my senses peak as I can sense someone else in farm. And no matter what, that bastard is Alpha Asher. I can sense him.
