Chapter 1

Lina's point of view I looked at myself in the mirror, my beautiful short and curly black hair was packed in a ponytail, beautifully endowed with flowers. My blue eyes shone with innocence and cleverness. The wonderful dress I wore made my features extremely beautiful. I had been perfect; this had been the moment that I had been waiting for a long time. Being in love with Alpha Kyle, I had always stared at him from a distance, admiring everything about him. He had been a good person, kind and loving, always protecting the people under him. He had been the Alpha of our pack and the perfect one. I remembered when I found out that he was my mate and the one that I would do anything for. I had been greatly overjoyed; fortunately, he had accepted me as his mate. And there I had been, smiling gracefully as I walked out of the room. "You are looking splendid!" Barbara had said and kissed my cheek. She had been my stepmom, but it had felt like she was my biological mother because of how she cared for me even more than her daughter at times. "Are you ready?" My Dad had asked me. I had nodded, and we had gone in. I had walked gracefully to Alpha Kyle. I had known that not everyone had been happy seeing me officially marrying the Alpha. Most of them had deemed me unworthy of the Alpha because I had been an omega who was wolf-less, while others had not cared much about that as long as their Alpha had his mate. I had finally gotten there, and he had held my hand. 'This is it!' I had screamed in my head before we could continue. We had heard a loud voice yell "Stop!" Our attention had drifted to Rosa, who had run into the hall of the pack while panting. "Alpha Kyle, you have to stop your wedding right now because your lover needs you immediately," she had said. My eyes had widened. What had I been hearing? His lover? "You have to be joking? His lover is right here, the one he is officially marrying," I had frowned. Rosa had looked at Alpha Kyle, waiting for his reply. I had also turned to Alpha Kyle, who had been looking blankly at Rosa. "Kyle, say something," I had begged. "Kyle," I had heard the voice of the person that had been my nemesis, the one who would gladly try to harm me in any way possible. I had turned to look at her, and she had walked to us. I had blinked rapidly in fright but tried to hide it. "I thought you were not going to come. I tried talking to her, but she ignored me. I am pregnant," she had blurted out. I had looked at her confused. My heart could tell me what was going on, but I had refused to listen because part of me had not wanted it to be true. I had hoped it was a lie. "I am with your child," she had said again to Alpha Kyle. Alpha Kyle had beamed in joy. He had let go of my hand and hugged Lula. "I am going to be a father!" he had said happily. I had looked at them shocked, like I had been in a nightmare. Lula had gently pushed Kyle and rubbed her tummy. "We need to see the healer. I have been doing a lot of things I shouldn't, and also met with you last night. I have been feeling on edge. We need to go now," she had said. "Really?" he had asked, concerned. She had nodded. "Okay, let's go quickly. I don't want anything to happen to you or my baby," he had said, holding her hand to leave. "Hey!" I had yelled at them in anger and pain. They had had to admit that they had been having an affair, and even last night! The night before our wedding! How could he be so heartless? "Don't you think you owe me an explanation! What are you doing!" I had yelled at them. I had felt a resounding slap on my face that had made me lose my balance, falling weakly on the floor. The crowd had gasped. I had looked at the person that had slapped me. "Kyle…" my voice had broken. He had noticed that the people had been beginning to view him as a bad person, and that had been one thing Alpha Kyle had disliked. Anything that could be a comma on his reputation. "You do not yell at your Alpha!" he had yelled in a commanding voice. "Did you not hear Lula? She is in a critical condition and needs me, but yet you yelled. Do you want her to be frightened?" he had scolded me. I had scoffed and stood up. "Don't you think you are being too much? You slept with my step-sister, who you know has always been a bully to me. You cheated on me and got her pregnant, and what do you do? You slapped me because I yelled at her!" I had said with tears rolling down my eyes. The pack members had begun to murmur. I had been sure most of them had been shocked at the way I had spoken. Yes, I had been a weak and wolfless omega, but I had had a very sharp tongue, which I had not hesitated to use. But today had not been my day because my mouth had not been going to help me at all. Instead, I had received the worst type of humiliation. Alpha Kyle and Lula had laughed at me mockingly. "Come on, do not act like you were wronged. We both know that this marriage thing was just a deal for you not to be looked down on by people," he had said. "What?" I had been confused because we had never said anything like that to each other. A deal? What was he talking about? "The weakest omega, who does not contribute to the pack. Everyone bullied you; it wasn't just Lula," tears had rolled down. Was this the man I loved? I had asked myself. "I and Kyle have always been lovers. We just had a bit of pity on you, and out of my good heart, I decided to let him stay with you. But I've changed my mind," she had smirked. "You must be joking! Why does everyone keep saying ridiculous things today?" I had frowned. She had scoffed and glared at me. "Maybe I should show you what I mean," she had dragged me by the hair and thrown me on the ground. "Rosa, I want you to show this weak omega that she should never have dreamt that Alpha Kyle was hers," Lula had smirked. Rosa had begun kicking and hitting me. When I had tried retaliating, it had only gotten worse because I hadn't had the strength to fight them. "Stop it, Lula, you are stressing yourself and hurting your sister," I had overheard Kyle's pretentious voice. "Even when she knows that her weak nature should not be compared to being the Luna, she was still greedy, and even now, she still does not want to let go," Kyle had added slowly, making the people be on his side. None had liked my weak nature, and since their Alpha had said something about it, they had readily supported him, knowing fully well of his good nature and reputation I had also been like that. I could see his pretentious nature, but I had ignored it. I now realized how much of a fool I had been. "Stop," Lula had said and walked to me. She had grabbed my chin roughly. "Wow, you protected your face quite well. It is almost like you didn't get beaten. You should consider this as a warning," she had removed her hand from my chin. Alpha Kyle had held Lula like an egg. "Do not strain yourself," he had said to her, then looked at me. "I, Alpha Kyle, reject you Lina Cole as my mate," he had said coldly. Tears had rolled from my eyes. I had stood up and stared at everyone. They had looked like they were okay with the humiliation and maltreatment that I had received. My Dad had looked at his feet, while my stepmom had been crying, probably blaming herself for having such an evil birth daughter. "I, Lina Cole, accept your rejection," as soon as the words had left my mouth, I had felt a sting of pain in my chest. I had fallen to the ground in pain, and the pain had slowly been replaced with emptiness and a void of emotions. I could feel only the hurt of what they had done to me. Alpha Kyle had walked to me and pretended to help me up. "You were so easy to deceive. Did you really think that I loved you?" he had whispered. "Don't be delusional. You are way below me, and I am not that nice to overlook such big flaws," he had raised me. I had stood with my tears flowing like a river, with the pain. I had said, "I loved you. I thought that I had met my happy ever after. I guess I was wrong," I had said and in despair, I had run out of the hall. I could hear their mocking laughter and gaze. I had felt like I should disappear from this world. I had kept running, going into the forest that surrounds the Light pack. I had tripped on a tree branch on the ground and fallen. As I struggled to stand up, I had heard a voice of a man begging for his life. "Spare me," he had said. I had walked to the direction of the voice. My eyes had widened as I had seen the man's heart being gouged out by... The dreadful Lycan Dylan. Could this day get any worse?
