Destroy the artifact. I can do this.
I stood at the edge of the ruins, staring at the hole Noah and I had created just days ago. The artifact, which was a glowing blue stone from which I had gathered, was buried there. Dig it up, destroy it, go home. Easy enough. I can do this.
But first I needed a shield. I would be as good as dead if I went in without one.
Using a little trick I learned from Gwen throughout the years, I knelt down on the ground and began drawing power from the earth itself. It was borderline dark magic according to Gwen, but could be very helpful in a pinch. This seemed like a pinch to me.
I took only what I felt I needed, just enough to shield myself and destroy the artifact. It took a few more attempts than I'd like to admit, but I got my shield up.
