Chapter Forty-Nine: PanicPresent day Pressed against the padded walls of his dark cell, his eyes useless, Raven used his remaining senses to explore his surroundings. He ran his fingers over the walls, up to the ceiling, down to the floor. Fumbling in the darkness, his eyes wide in an attempt to gain light, his hands ran over the hinges of the door, also padded on the inside. He pushed at the door. It was locked tight. His heartbeat thundered in his ears, the only noise he could hear in the muffled room. It seemed eerily menacing now that all else was silent.
