Chapter Seventy-Five – Defeating Azalea

1666 Words

Marina’s POV Shocked at the roots of my hair, I gaped at Master Kenneth. Was Adonis injured? Why didn’t Arian inform me? “How critical is he?” I asked in a whisper, panic settling in my heart. “He’s fine now. He would have been critical had Azalea not rescued him on time.” A gasp of horror escaped my lips. He drove on while I sat, feeling guilty to have endangered my mate’s life. I should have been the one to save him instead of Azalea. There was nothing I could say as we drove over to the village. Why did my father attack my mate? Was it because he saved me from his clutches? Whatever it was, I knew Adonis was going through this because of me. The only way to save him would be to walk out of his life forever. Maybe it was time to face my father and demand an answer to his actions.
