Chapter XXIIBiloxi, Mississippi April 2, 2012 Clarice was a criminal. By this stage, no other term could possibly describe her. Two years and twelve days ago, she had been a law abiding family woman with businesses and employees and a mountain of responsibilities, none of which was felonious, or even a misdemeanor. Since then, however, she had assaulted officers, fought in an illegal fight ring to win illegal gambling money, performed unlicensed tattoos, committed larceny against her prison case manager (a lady Clarice actually liked). Then she was arrested for murder. She was really only an accessory, but she didn't see herself giving up her friend Patty in exchange for a lighter punishment; she saw herself getting a life sentence.
